PREVENTION & STUDENT PROGRAMS: EDUCATED AND EMPOWERED STUDENTS TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND HEALTHY ENGAGEMENT IN THEIR PEER COMMUNITIES. THERE WERE 380 STUDENTS ENGAGED IN INFOCUS AND YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL PROGRAMS. THERE WERE 1,636 STUDENTS TRAINED SPECIFICALLY IN TOBACCO PREVENTION IN THE SCHOOL SYSTEMS. ENGAGED COMMUNITY PROVIDERS AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE TO COLLABORATE TO OFFER BETTER DRUG PREVENTION SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY. A BOOK BAG DRIVE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS WAS HELD AND 432 BACKPACKS FILLED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND A PREVENTION PACKET FOR PARENTS WERE DISTRIBUTED.
RESOURCES/MEDIA: MAINTAINED A WEBSITE WITH RESOURCES AND INFORMATION FOR DRUG ABUSERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THERE WERE 3,379 VISITS TO THE PARENT TOOLBOX AND 796 VISITS TO THE FIND HELP PAGE ON THE WEBSITE. THERE WERE OVER 1.4 MILLION PEOPLE REACHED THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA AND APPROXIMATELY 41,000 ENGAGEMENTS ON DIGITAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS.
COMMUNITY AWARENESS: ENGAGED COMMUNITY PROVIDERS AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE TO COLLABORATE TO OFFER DRUG PREVENTION SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY. HOSTED POP-UP RESOURCE FAIRS QUARTERLY AT OVERDOSE HOTSPOTS IN THE COMMUNITY, WHERE WE PARTNERED WITH 40 ORGANIZATIONS IN THE SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION, TREATMENT, AND RECOVERY SPHERE TO BRING RESOURCES AND AWARENESS RELATING TO MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE USE. 209 PEOPLE WERE TRAINED ON NARCAN ADMINISTRATION, AND 150 HYGIENE BAGS WERE DISTRIBUTED. HOSTED AN END ADDICTION WALK WHERE 1,250 PEOPLE ATTENDED AND PROCEEDS FUNDED 58 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TREATMENT.
