IN MARCH 2020, AT THE BEGINNING OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, THE MARK CUBAN FOUNDATION MADE SEVERAL PURCHASES/EXPENSES TO ASSIST IN THE RESPONSE TO THE CRISIS. THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED:- $50,000 TO ALLOW A DISTILLERY TO MANUFACTURE HAND SANITIZER THAT WAS DISTRIBUTED TO DALLAS COUNTY TO BE GIVEN TO FIRST RESPONDERS.- $28,819 TO PURCHASE 3-D PRINTERS THAT WERE USED TO MAKE 3-D-PRINTED MASKS AND RESPIRATORS. THE MASKS AND RESPIRATORS WERE GIVEN TO HEALTH CARE WORKERS FOR FREE.- $10,687 TO PURCHASE RAIN JACKETS THAT WERE DONATED TO BAYLOR SCOTT WHITE HEALTH FOR COVID PROTECTION FOR ITS HEALTH CARE WORKERS.- $52,650 TO PURCHASE FILTER PADS THAT WERE USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF 3-D-PRINTED MASKS- $87,072 TO PURCHASE MASKS.
