DURING THIS PERIOD, 79,235 MEMBERS JOINED OUR SUPPORT GROUPS SHARING RESOURCES, UTILIZING OUR EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, ALONG WITH SEEKING GUIDANCE FROM OTHER FAMILIES AND PROFESSIONALS. WE ENHANCED OUR WEBSITE WITH MORE DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT, ALLOWING FOR EASIER ACCESS TO OUR FREE RESOURCES AND EDUCATION WITH OVER 1.1 MILLION WEBSITE VIEWS. THIS YEAR, APRAXIA KIDS DEVELOPED THE INSURANCE ADVOCACY GUIDE TO PROVIDE FAMILIES AND THERAPISTS WITH RESOURCES AND INFORMATION TO HELP ADVOCATE FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE OF REQUIRED THERAPY FOR CHILDREN WITH HIGH NEEDS INCLUDING SPEECH THERAPY, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, PHYSICAL THERAPY, AND OTHER HEALTH RELATED TREATMENT. THE INSURANCE ADVOCACY GUIDE PROVIDES A PRINTABLE CHECKLIST, INSURANCE GLOSSARY, ANSWERS TO NUMEROUS INSURANCE QUESTIONS, LINKS AND WORDING OF SUPPORTIVE RESEARCH, ALONG WITH OTHER SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO ADVOCATE FOR SERVICES. OUR ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS HELD LIVE AND VIRTUALLY IN 2024 WITH 743 INDIVIDUALS WORLDWIDE IN ATTENDANCE. VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS AND RESOURCES WERE AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE MONTH OF JULY, 2024 FOLLOWING THE LIVE EVENT. WE PROVIDED 53 SCHOLARSHIPS TO FAMILIES IN NEED OF SUPPORT TO ATTEND OUR NATIONAL CONFERENCE TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION. IN ADDITION, WE AWARDED 7 SCHOLARSHIPS TO GRADUATE STUDENTS STUDYING TO BE A SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST. WE CONTINUE TO FIND WAYS TO INVEST IN COMMUNITY OUTREACH DEVELOPING STATEWIDE RESOURCES FOR OUR FAMILIES. OUR NATIONAL WALK FOR APRAXIA EVENTS WERE IN PERSON OFFERING A VIRTUAL OPTION FOR FAMILIES TO RAISE AWARENESS AND DONATIONS IN 64 CITIES WITH OVER 7,800 PARTICIPANTS. WE CONTINUED OUR SPEECH TABLET PROGRAM, DISTRIBUTING SPEECH TABLETS, PROTECTIVE CASES AND APPLICATIONS TO CHILDREN FROM LOW TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES. APRAXIA KIDS CONTINUES TO SUPPORT RESEARCH ASSISTING RESEARCHERS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD TO RECRUIT SUBJECTS FOR THEIR APRAXIA RESEARCH STUDIES.
