THE PENN STATE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL BOOSTER CLUB PROMOTES AND SUPPORTS THE PENN STATE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM AND ITS RELATED ACTIVITIES.

PROMOTING SUPPORT AND ATTENDANCE AT THE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL MATCHES: 1) THE CLUB'S ANNUAL PICNIC WAS HELD AT THE PENN STATE GOLF COURSE IN AUGUST 2018 WHERE MEMBERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT WITH EACH OTHER, INTERACT WITH THE VETERAN AND NEW TEAM MEMBERS, THE COACHING STAFF AND HEAR COACH ROSE'S PREVIEW OF THE UPCOMING VOLLEYBALL SEASON. 2) THE CLUB HELD FOUR COACH'S LUNCHEONS DURING THE 2018 FALL VOLLEYBALL SEASON WHERE COACH ROSE SPOKE TO THOSE IN ATTENDANCE, PROVIDING INSIGHT INTO THE TEAM'S PROGRESS THROUGH THE YEAR, THE BIG 10 LEAGUE, OTHER TEAMS, RULES CHANGES, ETC. TYPICALLY ONE TO THREE TEAM MEMBERS ALSO ATTENDED THE COACH'S LUNCHEONS AND PROVIDED BACKGROUND ON THEMSELVES AND TEAM ACTIVITIES. 3) THE CLUB HELD MEMBER SOCIALS AFTER THE 2018 SATURDAY NIGHT HOME VOLLEYBALL MATCHES WHERE THE MEMBERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO INTERACT WITH THE TEAM MEMBERS, THE COACHING STAFF AND TO HEAR COACH ROSE'S PERSPECTIVE ON HOW THE TEAM PLAYED DURING THE WEEKEND AND THE OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES THE TEAM WOULD HAVE DURING THE DURING THE NEXT TWO TO FOUR MATCHES. 4) THE CLUB'S ANNUAL BANQUET WAS HELD IN JANUARY 2019 TO CELEBRATE THE TEAM'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS DURING THE PAST VOLLEYBALL SEASON AND TO WISH OUR GRADUATING SENIORS WELL. 5) THE CLUB PROMOTED ATTENDANCE AT ALL HOME MATCHES BY PURCHASING BILLBOARDS IN THE STATE COLLEGE MARKET AND TARGETED MARKETING VIA FACEBOOK AND OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BOTH HOME AND AWAY MATCHES. 6) THE CLUB CONTACTED THE LOCAL PENN STATE ALUMNI CHAPTERS IN THE CITIES WHERE THE TEAM WAS PLAYING ITS AWAY MATCHES TO REQUEST THAT THEY PROMOTE ATTENDANCE AT THOSE MATCHES. 7) THE CLUB PUBLISHED AND SENT NEWSLETTERS TO KEEP ITS MEMBERS INFORMED ABOUT CLUB AND TEAM ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.


THE BOOSTER CLUB PROVIDED OVER 3,200 IN DIRECT PROMOTION AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE PENNSYLVANIA STATE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM: THE BOOSTER CLUB DONATES FUNDS TO THE COACH'S FUND ADMINISTERED BY THE PENN STATE INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT. THE HEAD COACH OF THE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM AND HIS ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT STAFF MONITOR THE RECEIPT OF FUNDS AND THEIR USE. THE CLUB ALSO PROMOTES THE RECEIPT OF DONOR RESTRICTED CONTRIBUTIONS ON BEHALF OF VARIOUS SCHOLARSHIPS AND PROGRAM FUNDS ADMINISTERED BY THE PENN STATE INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT THAT DIRECTLY SUPPORT THE PROGRAM. THE BOOSTER CLUB ACTS AS AN AGENT FOR THESE FUNDS AND REMITS THE DONOR RESTRICTED CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE UNIVERSITY ON AT LEAST A QUARTERLY BASIS.


SUPPORT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE WRECKING CREW (THE STUDENT BOOSTER CLUB): THE CLUB BOOSTER CLUB PROVIDED T-SHIRTS AND VARIOUS GIVE-A-WAYS FOR THE WRECKING CREW TO PROMOTE ATTENDANCE AT OUR HOME VOLLEYBALL MATCHES. THE CLUB ALSO PURCHASED STUDENT TICKETS TO THE FIRST AND SECOND ROUNDS OF THE NCAA TOURNAMENT IN DECEMBER 2018 TO PROMOTE STUDENT ATTENDANCE AT THOSE MATCHES. FINANCIAL SUPPORT WAS ALSO PROVIDED TO DEFRAY SOME OF THE COSTS OF A BUS TRIP TO AN AWAY VOLLEYBALL MATCH.


THE CLUB PAID FOR TICKETS FOR DISADVANTAGED INDIVIDUALS TO ITS VOLLEYBALL EVENTS.
