TO PRESERVE AND OPERATE THE HISTORIC CARLISLE THEATRE AS A PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AND COMMUNITY GATHERING PLACE THAT PROVIDES A FOCAL POINT OF CULTURAL ACTIVITY AND EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH FOR DIVERSE AUDIENCES.

CONCERTS & RENTALS - THIS PROGRAM SEEKS TO BRING TO CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA LIVE SHOWS FEATURING MUSIC FROM MANY STYLES, PRIMARILY CLASSIC ROCK, SINGER/SONGWRITER, FUNK, BLUES, COMEDY, AND MORE. THERE WERE SEVEN SHOWS WITH AN ATTENDANCE OF 3,450 PEOPLE. THE THEATRE IS ALSO USED BY LOCAL PERFORMING ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE FOR THE ENRICHMENT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, AS WELL AS ORGANIZATIONS THAT HOLD FILM EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY. NO LARGE CONCERT RENTALS OCCURRED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. A HIGHER NUMBER OF RENTALS OCCURRED THAN DURING THE PANDEMIC, SUCH AS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERTS, BAND CONCERTS, ACAPELLA CONCERTS, SMALL BUSINESS RENTALS, AND MORE, ACCOUNTING FOR AN OUTREACH OF OVER 1000 PEOPLE.


HOLLYWOOD ON HIGH FILM SERIES - THE MISSION OF HOLLYWOOD ON HIGH IS TO HAVE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED FILMS WHICH ALSO INCLUDE FOREIGN AND INDEPENDENT FILMS INCLUDING DOCUMENTARIES UNLIKELY TO BE FOUND AT LOCAL MULTIPLEXES. THE THEATRE HAS BEGUN FOCUSING ON FILMS MOST LIKELY TO BE NOMINATED FOR THE ACADEMY AWARDS, HIGHLY PRAISED OBSCURE FILMS, AND NOSTALGIC CLASSICS FOR THE HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL EVENTS. THE 2021-2022 SEASON SHOWED OVER 12 FILMS, WITH A YEARLY ATTENDANCE OF OVER 300 PEOPLE. ADDITIONAL FILM EVENTS FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES REACHED OVER 100.


PLAYERS ON HIGH THIS BRANCH OF THE THEATRE IS A HYBRID, LIVE THEATRE BRANCH OFFERING A RANGE OF PRODUCTIONS WITH BOTH AMATEUR AND PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. THEIR SECOND FULL SEASON SUCCESSFULLY RAN FROM JUNE 2021 - JUNE 2022 AND IS CONTINUING TO EXPAND AND EVOLVE WITH EDUCATIONAL THEATRICAL CLASSES & WORKSHOPS, MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS, BLACK BOX EXPERIENCES, SCHOOL TOURS, AND VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING. THERE WERE 4 LIVE MAINSTAGE PRODUCTIONS WITH ALMOST 2,100 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE; AND ADDITIONAL BLACKBOX STYLE EVENTS THAT REACHED OVER 500 VIRTUALLY AND IN PERSON, INCLUDING STUDENT SHOWCASES, CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS, AND LIVE PERFORMANCE COCKTAIL PARTIES AND FUNDRAISERS.
