Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

GREENVILLAGE YOUTH LEAGUE (GYL), FOUNDED IN 1979, IS COMMITTED TO FOCUS ON ITS YOUTH. WE ARE A NON-PROFIT YOUTH LEAGUE PROGRAM STRICTLY RUN BY VOLUNTEERS. WEVE HAD AN MANY AS 250 BOYS AND GIRLS PLAY BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL FROM 4 YEARS OLD TO 18 YEARS OF AGE. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE AN AFFORDABLE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH TO LEARN BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL IN A FUN SUPPORTIVE AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT. WE STRIVE TO TEACH PARTICIPANTS OF GYL LIFE SKILLS THAT THEY WILL USE LONG AFTER THEY LEAVE OUR PROGRAM. WE BELIEVE THAT IT IS NOT HOW MANY WINS A TEAM HAS, IT IS HOW WELL EACH INDIVIDUAL PLAYER CONTRIBUTES TO THE TEAM, DOING THEIR BEST. IF WE DO A GOOD JOB OF TEACHING THE PLAYERS THE SKILLS, THE WINS WILL HAPPEN, AND THEY WILL ALSO LEARN HOW TO LOSE GRACEFULLY AND IN A SPORTSMANLIKE MANNER. OUR ALL-VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND COACHING STAFF PROVIDES INSTRUCTION ON THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE GAME, INCLUDING TEAMWORK AND SPORTSMANSHIP FOR YOUTH AGES 4 TO 18 YEARS OLD. GYL IS COMMITTED TO FOCUS ON ITS PLAYERS. WE BELIEVE THAT KIDS WHO LEARN HOW TO PLAY A ROLE ON TEAM, TO WIN AND LOSE WITH GRACE, AND TO SUPPORT THEIR TEAMMATES HAVE A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL ADULTS. OUR GOAL IS TO TEACH PARTICIPANTS OF GYL LIFE SKILLS THAT THEY WILL USE LONG AFTER THEY LEAVE OUR PROGRAM. LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS ARE MADE HERE, AND NOT JUST BETWEEN PLAYERS.
