THE YWCA OFFERS PROGRAMS IN TECHNOLOGY, LITERACY, AND CHILD CARE. COMPUTER CLASSES ARE OFFERED TO HELP WOMEN PREPARE FOR THE WORKFORCE OR TO IMPROVE WORK-RELATED SKILLS. THE YWCA SPONSORS TECHGIRLS PROGRAMS AT SEVERAL LOCAL SCHOOLS TO ALLOW GIRLS TO LEARN ABOUT ROBOTICS AND ENCOURAGE THE PURSUIT OF STEM CAREERS. THE YWCA LITERACY PROGRAM ASSISTS NON-READING ADULTS TO LEARN READING SKILLS AND PROVIDES CLASSES IN ESL TO INDIVIDUALS WITH FIRST LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH. THESE PROGRAMS GIVE ADULTS, AND THEIR FAMILIES, SKILLS NEEDED TO BE EFFECTIVE IN THEIR ROLES AS MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILIES, COMMUNITIES, AND WORKPLACES.
