IN PREPARATION FOR THIS EVENT, PRELIMINARY ADVERTISING; EXTENSIVE MAILINGS; PLANS WITH THE MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC FOR ACCOMMODATING THE COMPETITION; THE ENGAGING OF SIX PRESTIGIOUS JURY MEMBERS; AND COUNTLESS DETAILS ARE EMPLOYED TO JUSTIFY THE END RESULTS. TWENTY-TWO PIANISTS, AGES 16-22 WILL PARTICIPATE IN JUNE,2022. A UNIQUE AND PARTICULAR FEATURE OF THE COMPETITION IS NO ELIMINATION OF CONTESTANTS DURING THE COMPETITION'S FOUR ROUNDS. IN ADDITION TO THE SIGNIFICANT PRIZES AWARDED TO THE WINNERS, THE FOUNDATION AWARDS $1,000 TO EACH OF THE REMAINING CONTESTANTS. THE CENTERPIECE OF THE NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION AND A PROGRAM THAT CARRIES OVER INTO THE YOUNG ARTISTS SERIES IS THE COMMISSIONING OF NEW WORKS.
