THE RHODE ISLAND HEALTH CENTER ASSOCIATION WORKS TO SUPPORT, SUSTAIN, AND STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS SO THEY CAN PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY, PATIENT-CENTERED, INTEGRATED AND EQUITABLE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE TO THEIR PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES.

THROUGH FUNDING OBTAINED FROM THE HEALTH RESOURCES AND SERVICES ADMINISTRATION (HRSA), THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS IN PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY, COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES WITHIN RHODE ISLAND.
THE ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS FQHCS IN RHODE ISLAND THROUGH SEVERAL PROGRAMS AND GRANTS INCLUDING CARE+COMMUNITY+EQUITY, THE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT TO INCREASE CANCER SCREENING RATES WITHIN FQHCS, AND THE RHODE ISLAND HEALTH PROFESSIONAL LOAN REPAYMENT PROGRAM.
UNDER THE TERMS OF A CONTRACT WITH HEALTHSOURCE RI, THE ASSOCIATION OPERATES THE OUTREACH AND ENROLLMENT SUPPORT PROGRAM (OESP)/STATEWIDE ASSISTER NETWORK SERVICES (SANS). AS PART OF THIS PROGRAM, THE ASSOCIATION MANAGES A STATE-WIDE NETWORK OF IN-PERSON ASSISTER AND NAVIGATOR AGENCIES TO HELP RHODE ISLANDERS OBTAIN HEALTH CARE COVERAGE.
THROUGH ONE-TIME FUNDING OBTAINED FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY, PASSED THROUGH THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION, THE ASSOCIATION AWARDED STATE FISCAL RECOVERY FUNDS TO THE STATE'S EIGHT FEDERALLY QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTERS (FQHCS).
