EXHIBITIONSMOMA PS1 PRESENTS THE WORK OF EMERGING ARTISTS, ESTABLISHED ARTISTS WORKING IN NEW GENRES, AND, OVERALL PRESENTS TO THE PUBLIC WORKS OF CONTEMPORARY ART THAT ARE ENGAGING, CHALLENGING, AND GROUND-BREAKING IN A UNIQUE, ACCESSIBLE VENUE.
LIVE PROGRAMSSINCE ITS FOUNDING IN 1976, MOMA PS1 HAS OFFERED AUDIENCES ONE OF THE MOST EXTENSIVE PROGRAMS OF LIVE PERFORMANCE IN THE WORLD. MOMA PS1'S ACCLAIMED VW SUNDAY SESSIONS PERFORMANCE SERIES WELCOMES VISITORS TO EXPERIENCE AND PARTICIPATE IN LIVE ART, HIGHLIGHTING ARTISTS RESPONDING TO CONTEMPORARY SOCIAL AND POLITICAL ISSUES THROUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF CREATIVE AND CRITICAL LENSES. ENCOMPASSING PERFORMANCE, MUSIC, DANCE, CONVERSATION, AND FILM, THE SERIES DEVELOPS AND PRESENTS PROJECTS BY ESTABLISHED AND EMERGING ARTISTS, SCHOLARS, ACTIVISTS, AND OTHER CULTURAL INSTIGATORS. MOMA PS1'S PIONEERING OUTDOOR MUSIC SERIES WARM UP IS ONE OF THE LONGEST RUNNING MUSIC PROGRAMS HOUSED WITHIN A MUSEUM. AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF MOMA PS1'S CURATORIAL PROGRAM FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS, WARM UP SEEKS TO ELEVATE INNOVATIVE AND UNDERREPRESENTED VOICES; EMERGING AND ESTABLISHED, LOCAL AND GLOBAL, AND ACROSS GENRES. AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC, DURING AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER, MOMA PS1'S WARM UP SUMMER CONCERT SERIES RETURNED FOR A SUCCESSFUL DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT, WORKING COLLABORATIVELY WITH THE QUEENS BOTANICAL GARDEN (QBG). THE WARM UP EVENT WAS BROADCASTING FROM PS1'S COURTYARD, PROVIDING MUSIC TO BOTH THE QBG AND OUR COMMUNITIES AT HOME. WARM UP ALSO SERVED AS A FUNDRAISER FOR ARTISTS IN NEED OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
EVENTS & RETAILMOMA PS1'S NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM EVENTS ALLOW GUESTS TO ENJOY AFTER-HOURS ACCESS TO THE EXHIBITION GALLERIES. THE NIGHTS ARE ACCOMPANIED BY DJ SETS, LOCAL FOOD AND BEVERAGE VENDORS, AND PROGRAMMATIC CONTENT SUCH AS LIVE PERFORMANCES, FILM SCREENINGS, AND ARTIST TALKS. DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM WAS CANCELED. ARTBOOK AT MOMA PS1 IS A VIBRANT SOURCE FOR CUTTING-EDGE CONTEMPORARY ART BOOKS OFFERING A GREAT SELECTION OF CONTEMPORARY ART TITLES, INCLUDING MOMA PS1 EXHIBITION-RELATED PUBLICATIONS (AND OTHER MOMA PS1 PRODUCTS), BOOKS RELATING TO CURRENT NEW YORK SHOWS, A LARGE STOCK OF MONOGRAPHS, THEORY, PHOTOGRAPHY, CDS, MULTIMEDIA TITLES, LIMITED EDITIONS, JOURNALS, AND MANY OUT-OF-PRINT TITLES. PS1'S NEW RESTAURANT PARTNER AS OF FISCAL YEAR 2021, MINA'S, IS AN ALL-DAY CAFE FROM CHEF MINA STONE.
