TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES AND SUPPORT TO STUDENTS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
FOUR YEAR COLLEGE DEGREE PROGRAM THAT SERVED 236 STUDENTS IN FALL 2020 AND 210 STUDENTS IN SPRING 2021.THE NURSING PROGRAM EXPERIENCED A SLIGHT INCREASE IN ENROLLMENT OF DECLARED MAJORS IN THE FALL. ENROLLMENT WENT FROM 29 LAST SPRING TO 32 STUDENTS IN THE FALL. THERE WERE 15 STUDENTS IN THE PRE-NURSING COURSES RESULTING IN 13 STUDENTS IN THE FORMAL CURRICULUM 10 STUDENTS AT THE FIRST CURRICULUM YEAR LEVEL WHICH DECREASED TO 8 AND 3 STUDENTS AT THE SECOND CURRICULUM YEAR LEVEL. THREE STUDENTS WILL GRADUATE FROM THE PRACTICAL NURSING BASIC PROGRAM THIS SPRING. THE ANNUAL REPORT SUBMITTED TO THE NORTH DAKOTA BOARD OF NURSING IN SEPTEMBER WAS ACCEPTED. THE SITTING BULL COLLEGE NURSING PROGRAM HAS FULL ACCREDITATION THROUGH JANUARY 2025. THE BOARD REMAINS CONCERNED ABOUT PERSONNEL AND WORKLOAD AS WELL AS THE LIMITING OF THE GROWTH OF THE PROGRAM BECAUSE OF NOT ENOUGH PERSONNEL. THEREFORE THE CAP ON THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS REMAINS AT 10. THE FIVE YEAR ACCREDITATION SITE VISIT OCCURRED THIS OCTOBER PER ZOOM AND WENT VERY WELL! THE ASSOCIATES IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION GRADUATED SEVEN STUDENTS DURING THE 2020-2021 ACADEMIC YEAR. THERE WERE 26 STUDENTS ENROLLED DURING THE FALL OF 2020. 14 STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN THE SPRING SEMESTER OF 2021. FOUR STUDENTS WILL GRADUATE WITH A BACHELORS IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION FOR THE 2020-2021 ACADEMIC YEAR. NINE STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN THE BACHELORS PROGRAM DURING THE FALL OF 2020. 13 STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED IN THE BACHELORS PROGRAM IN THE SPRING OF 2021. THREE STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE NASA LSPACE PROGRAM VIA ZOOM IN THE FALL OF 2020. TWO STUDENTS COMPLETED THEIR EXAMS FOR THE VITA PROGRAM TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WITH TAX PREPARATION. 157 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED THROUGH VITA. BASED ON THE LOWER SCALE THAT H&R BLOCK CHARGES, WHICH IS $275, MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY SAVED OVER $43,175 IN FEES. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, LOCATING A SITE FOR THE INTERNSHIP WAS CHALLENGING FOR SOME STUDENTS. COURSERA WAS USED TO FILL THE VOID. COURSERA OFFERS NUMEROUS COURSES THAT CAN BE AUDITED FREE OF CHARGE. FIVE STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN AN ONLINE BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION AND EARNED SECOND PLACE. FOUR STUDENTS HAVE APPLIED FOR TRAVEL FUNDING AND WERE AWARDED FUNDING TO TRAVEL TO THE RES SUMMIT IN LAS VEGAS IN JULY. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME BUSINESS STUDENTS FROM SBC HAVE ATTENDED RES. CLASSES WERE MOVED TO ONLINE OR ZOOM. STUDENTS EXPRESSED THE NEED FOR CONSISTENT TIMES FOR MEETING WITH FACULTY.IN THE EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT SBC THERE WAS 30 (FALL) AND 29 (SPRING) STUDENTS ENROLLED IN FIVE OF SEVEN PROGRAMS. SEVEN STUDENTS IN AS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD, SIX IN AS TEACHER EDUCATION, FIVE BS IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION, TWO IN BS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHING, ZERO IN BS IN SECONDARY SCIENCE. BS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD NON-TEACHING HAD NO STUDENTS ENROLLED. 9 STUDENTS IN MED. CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION. SBC ALSO APPROVED AN ADDITIONAL BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE.
