CULTURAL SERVICE GRANTS PROGRAM: THE COUNCIL ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE TO DISTRIBUTE FUNDS TO VARIOUS CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS WHICH ARE ALLOCATED TO QUALIFYING ORGANIZATIONS.
ADVOCACY/DEVELOPMENT: THE COUNCIL'S GOAL IS TO STRENGTHEN THE ARTS AND CULTURAL SECTOR TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE REGION THROUGH COLLABORATION AND ACTIVISM, AND REGRANTING FUNDS TO VARIOUS CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS. THE CULTURAL COUNCIL OF GREATER JACKSONVILLE CHAMPIONS THE APPRECIATION, RELEVANCE, AND EXPRESSION OF ART AND CULTURE. IT SERVES TO MAKE MORE ART, MORE AVAILABLE TO MORE PEOPLE; PROVIDING CREATIVE SOLUTIONS FOR SOCIAL CHALLENGES AND DRIVING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE.
ART SEE & SHOP: THE ARTSEE & SHOP IS A RETAIL STORE SPACE PROVIDED BY THE LARGEST SHOPPING CENTER IN THE AREA. THE SHOP PROVIDES SPACE FOR LOCAL ARTISTS TO EXHIBIT THEIR ART ON CONSIGNMENT. IT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC DURING THE MALL HOURS AND ENCOURAGES MANY CUSTOMERS AND TOURISTS TO PURCHASE THE ARTWORK. THE SHOP IS FINANCED VIA SPONSORSHIPS AND PAYMENTS BY THE PUBLIC FOR THE ARTWORK. THE ARTISTS ARE PAID FOR THEIR WORK ONCE IT IS SOLD.
