Part 3 - Line 4a
THE MONROE COUNTY HISTORY CENTER, WHICH INCLUDES 12,000 SQUARE FEET OF MUSEUM GALLERY SPACE, A LOCAL HISTORY, GENEALOGY RESEARCH LIBRARY, AND A MUSEUM STORE, IS OPERATED BY THE MONROE COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY. SEMI-PERMANENT EXHIBITS TELL THE HISTORY AND STORIES OF THE MONROE COUNTY COMMUNITY INCLUDING LOCAL INDUSTRY, EARLY FAMILIES, EDUCATION, AND HOME LIFE. THE HISTORY CENTER ALSO HAS THREE GALLERY SPACES THAT FEATURE CHANGING EXHIBITS ON TOPICS RELATED TO LOCAL HISTORY AND THE COMMUNITY. THESE EXHIBITS CHANGE EVERY 4-6 MONTHS. THE HISTORY CENTER AND THE RESEARCH LIBRARY ALSO DEVELOP AND HOST PUBLIC PROGRAMMING FOR ALL AGES RELATED TO CURRENT EXHIBITS, GENEALOGY, AND LOCAL HISTORY TOPICS.
