TEXAS GIRLS & BOYS RANCH IS A CHRIST-CENTERED, FAITH-BASED AGENCY THAT PROVIDES 24-HOUR RESIDENTIAL CARE AND PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING SERVICES FOR CHILDREN THROUGH THREE SEPARATE LICENSED PROGRAMS. TEXAS GIRLS & BOYS RANCH IS NATIONALLY ACCREDITED THROUGH THE COUNCIL ON ACCREDITATION (COA). TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE AND EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES ARE AN ONGOING PART OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MILIEU OF CARE. IN ADDITION, A VARIETY OF COUNSELING SERVICES, INCLUDING EQUINE-ASSISTEDPSYCHOTHERAPY, ARE PROVIDED IN SUPPORT OF REUNIFICATION EFFORTS AND TO ASSIST IN THE TRANSITION OF CHILDREN IN CARE.THE RANCH OR CAMPUS PROGRAM PROVIDES CARE AND TREATMENT SERVICES FOR THE EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL NEEDS OF APPROXIMATELY 74 GIRLS AND BOYS (FREQUENTLY SIBLING GROUPS) WHO HAVE BEEN TRAUMATIZED BY PHYSICAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL ABUSE AND NEGLECT. TEXAS GIRLS & BOYS RANCH IS LICENSED TO SERVE 45 CHILDREN FROM AGES 3 TO ADULT. THE CHILDREN SERVED BY TEXAS GIRLS & BOYS RANCH ARE PRIMARILY WITHIN 150 MILES RADIUS. THE CHILDREN RESIDE IN A HOME-LIKE ENVIRONMENT AND LIVE IN 1 OF 4 DIFFERENT COTTAGES WITH LIVE-IN HOUSE PARENTS.


THE CHILD PLACING AGENCY PROGRAM LICENSES FOSTER AND ADOPTIVE HOMES FOR CHILDREN, INCLUDING SIBLINGS, THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED ABUSE AND NEGLECT. IN 2023, TEXAS BOYS RANCH LICENSED ABOUT 41 FAMILIES, SERVED APPROXIMATELY 150 CHILDREN AND FINALIZED 11 ADOPTIONS.


THE TEXAS GIRLS & BOYS RANCH CHILDREN'S SHELTER SERVE CHILDREN, INCLUDING SIBLINGS, TYPICALLY AS THEY ENTER THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. SOME CHILDREN COME TO THE SHELTER BECAUSE THEIR PREVIOUS PLACEMENT HAD FAILED FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER. THE SHELTER IS A SHORT-TERM PLACEMENT FOR CHILDREN SO THAT THEY CAN BE ASSESSED AND RECOMMENDATIONS CAN BE MADE FOR A MORE APPROPRIATE LONG-TERM PLACEMENT. THE MAXIMUM LENGTH OF TIME A CHILD CAN TYPICALLY STAY IS 90 DAYS. THE SHELTER CLOSED IN JUNE OF 2023 TO START A NEW PROGRAM CALLED TURNING POINT.
