THE PURPOSE OF THE ASSOCIATION SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO, EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES AND ENHANCING THE UNDERSTANDING, APPRECIATION, ENJOYMENT, OPERATION, AND PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE USE OF THE BUILDINGS AND LAND OWNED BY THE STATE OF ILLINOIS KNOWN AS THE EXECUTIVE MANSION IN SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS AND THE HAYES HOUSE LOCATED IN DUQUOIN, ILLINOIS. THESE PURPOSES SHALL BE FURTHERED BY THE RAISING AND DISTRIBUTING OF FUNDS AND ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS FOR THE ONGOING RESTORATION AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION OF THE EXECUTIVE MANSION AND THE HAYES HOME, AS WELL AS BY THE ACQUISITION OF FURNISHINGS AND FINE ART AND DECORATIVE ARTS FOR PLACEMENT AND DISPLAY IN THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICES IN THE ILLINOIS STATE CAPITOL AND JAMES R. THOMPSON CENTER IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
