PATIENT SERVICES: THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES COMMUNITY CASE MANAGEMENT AND MENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENT SERVICES TO ADULT CLIENTS WHO ARE AFFECTED BY EPILEPSY. CLIENTS MEET WITH AGENCY SOCIAL WORKERS TO ESTABLISH INDIVIDUALIZED GOALS. PLANS ARE ESTABLISHED TO ASSIST CLIENTS IN MEETING THOSE NEEDS. AN EMPHASIS IS PLACED ON CONSUMER CHOICE, MAINTAINING MEDICAL STABILITY, AND IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CLIENTS. IN 2021, THERE WERE 445 ADULTS WHO RECEIVED CASE MANAGEMENT AND OTHER SOCIAL SERVICES.
PUBLIC HEALTH EDUCATION: THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS TO A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY GROUPS, STUDENTS, TEACHERS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO INCREASE THE AWARENESS AND UNDERSTANDING OF EPILEPSY. EDUCATION IS PROVIDED ABOUT EPILEPSY FACTS, SEIZURE RECOGNITION, AND EPILEPSY FIRST AID. 5,352 INDIVIDUALS WERE REACHED THROUGH COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND ANOTHER 175 INDIVIDUALS ACCESSED ASSISTANCE THROUGH INFORMATION AND REFERRAL PROGRAMMING.
KIDS AND FAMILY: THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE A CHILD WITH EPILEPSY. THE ASSOCIATION STAFF ASSESS THE NEEDS OF EACH FAMILY MEMBER WITH ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT AND CONNECTS THEM WITH COMMUNITY SERVICES, PROVIDES GENERAL ASSISTANCE, EPILEPSY EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. SERVICES ARE TAILORED TO MEET THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF EACH FAMILY. IN 2021, THERE WERE 278 CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WHO WERE SERVED THROUGH PROGRAMMING.
