THE FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO PHYSICIAN LEADERSHIP EDUCATION AS WELL AS IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF ALL KENTUCKIANS THROUGH MEDICAL EDUCATION AND PUBLIC HEALTH INITIATIVES.

KENTUCKY PHYSICIANS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (WHICH INCLUDES THE KENTUCKY PHYSICIANS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY):A FOUR WEEKEND PROGRAM PROMOTING PHYSICIAN LEADERSHIP THROUGH ENHANCEMENT OF PERSONAL LEADERSHIP SKILLS, HEALTH CARE BUSINESS AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS, AND HEALTH CARE POLICY AND ADVOCACY SKILLS. MEDICAL STUDENT OUTREACH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (MSOL):PROGRAMS TO PROMOTE MEDICAL STUDENT LEADERSHIP THROUGH COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, AND EDUCATION ON THE POLITICAL, SOCIAL, AND ECONOMIC ISSUES OF THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.


RURAL PHYSICIAN BURNOUT PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES UP TO SIX THERAPY SESSIONS TO A KMA MEMBER WHO RESIDES IN A RURAL AREA OF KENTUCKY TO ADDRESS THE EFFECTS OF BURNOUT. THE PROGRAM IS TOTALLY CONFIDENTIAL AND PROVIDES PHYSICIANS A WAY TO SEEK TREATMENT OUTSIDE THEIR OWN PRACTICE SETTING WITHOUT HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT PRIVACY CONCERNS.RURAL PHYSICIAN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM:THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO KMA MEMBERS WHO RESIDE IN RURAL AREAS OF KENTUCKY TO ATTEND THE KENTUCKY PHYSICIANS LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE.


"BREATHE BETTER KENTUCKY" PUBLIC HEALTH CAMPAIGN, FUNDED BY A GRANT FROM THE ANTHEM FOUNDATION. THE CAMPAIGN'S PURPOSE WAS TO EDUCATE ALL KENTUCKIANS, WITH A PARTICULAR EMPHASIS ON THE AFRICAN AMERICAN, HISPANIC AND RURAL COMMUNITIES OF THE STATE, ON LUNG HEALTH ISSUES AND ENCOURAGE VISITING WITH A PHYSICIAN TO DISCUSS SPECIFIC CONCERNS. THE CAMPAIGN ALSO BROUGHT AWARENESS TO THE UNIQUE CHALLENGES AND INEQUITIES THAT EXIST WITHIN THESE ISSUES FOR CERTAIN POPULATIONS.
