COMMUNICATIONS AND FARMER RELATIONS: PROVIDING DAIRY FARM AND PRODUCT INFORMATION TO CONSUMERS AND COMMUNICATE THE VALUE OF DAIRY CHECKOFF TO ITS MEMBERS. UNDENIABLY DAIRY IS INTEGRATED INTO REGIONAL EFFORTS. THIS AREA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING DAIRY FARM AND PRODUCT INFORMATION TO CONSUMERS AND FOR COMMUNICATING THE VALUE OF THE DAIRY CHECKOFF TO ITS MEMBERSHIP. ADOPTING A MORE INCLUSIVE APPROACH TO DMI'S NATIONAL CAMPAIGN FOCUSING ON THE CONFLICTED HEALTH SEEKER (CHS) AND UNDENIABLY DAIRY, WILL BE INTEGRATED INTO REGIONAL EFFORTS. THE DAIRY ALLIANCE IMPLEMENTS AN ACTIVE, AGGRESSIVE PRODUCER COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM DESIGNED TO BUILD UNDERSTANDING, SUPPORT AND ENGAGEMENT IN PROGRAMS AMONG FUNDERS AND POTENTIAL FUNDERS. KEY DAIRY COMMUNITY TARGETS INCLUDE: DAIRY PROMOTION BOARD MEMBERS, INFLUENTIAL FARMERS, GRASSROOTS DAIRY FARMERS, CO-OP AND INDUSTRY LEADERS, OTHER AG LEADERS: FARM BUREAU, STATE DEPARTMENTS OF AGRICULTURE, EXTENSION SERVICE, LAND-GRANT UNIVERSITIES
FOOD AND NUTRITION OUTREACH: EDUCATING HEALTH PROFESSIONAL PARTNERS ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS AND DAIRY FARMING AND ASKING THEM TO ADVOCATE FOR DAIRY. OUR PROGRAM HAS TWO MAIN STRATEGIC AREAS: REPUTATIONAL THOUGHT LEADERS AND NUTRITION COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION.THE DAIRY ALLIANCE FOCUSES ON EDUCATING CONSUMERS ABOUT BONE HEALTH, MANAGING LACTOSE INTOLERANCE AND DAIRY RECIPES THROUGH MEDIA CAMPAIGNS WHICH TAP THE TALENTS OF OUR DAIRY ADVOCATES IN LARGE MEDIA MARKETS. IN ADDITION, OUR MEDIA DIETITIANS WILL CONTINUE TO DO LOCAL MEDIA INTERVIEWS SHARING THE GOODNESS OF DAIRY FOR OVERALL HEALTH. FOOD AND NUTRITION OUTREACH STRENGTHENED RELATIONSHIPS WITH WELLNESS DIETITIANS AND SPORTS NUTRITIONISTS WITH MAJOR UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES IN EACH STATE BY OFFERING NUTRITION EDUCATION, EQUIPMENT AND RECIPES TO USE WITH ATHLETES.
YOUTH WELLNESS: PROMOTING DAIRY TO YOUTH AND ADULT STAKEHOLDERS IN SCHOOLS, FOCUSING ON MILK, CHEESE AND YOGURT AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.TARGETING YOUTH REMAINS A PRIORITY TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN TRUST IN DAIRY. YOUTH HAVE BEEN HISTORICALLY HIGH CONSUMERS OF MILK AND ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR INDUSTRY. RESEARCH INDICATES YOUTH ARE CONCERNED ABOUT DAIRY AS "GOOD FOR ME AND GOOD FOR THE PLANET". IN KEEPING WITH OUR 2020 - 2023 OBJECTIVE TO UTILIZE UNDENIABLY DAIRY (UD) - BOTH CURRENT AND EVOLVING - AS THE INTEGRATED MARKETING THEME, WE WILL INCORPORATE ITS SUSTAINABLE NUTRITION RESOURCES INTO OUR YOUTH WELLNESS STRATEGIES, PROGRAMS AND EXECUTIONS. WE WILL FOCUS ON THE PRIMARY AGES OF 7-14 WITH THE SWEET SPOT BETWEEN AGES 10-14 WITH AN "IN-SCHOOL FOCUS". OUR EFFORTS WILL BE TO CREATE A MODEL FOR HELPING CHILDREN CONSUME MORE DAIRY PRODUCTS IN BOTH THE LONG-TERM AND THE SHORT-TERM. THIS WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH OUR FUEL UP TO PLAY 60 (FUTP 60) AND DAIRY EVERYWHERE PROGRAMS IN THE DAIRY ALLIANCE REGION.
MARKETING AND PARTNER RELATIONS: BUILDING STRATEGIC FOODSERVICE ALLIANCES TO GROW INCREMENTAL DAIRY SALES. BUILDING STRATEGIC FOODSERVICE ALLIANCES AND EXECUTING INNOVATIVE MENU DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES TO GROW INCREMENTAL DAIRY SALES THROUGH COMMERCIAL, NON-COMMERCIAL, AND MANUFACTURER/DISTRIBUTOR FOODSERVICE CHANNELS.RESEARCH AND INDUSTRY RELATIONS: STIMULATING INNOVATION THROUGHOUT THE INDUSTRY. THE DAIRY ALLIANCE WILL WORK ALONGSIDE DMI TO UNLOCK EMERGING GROWTH OPPORTUNITY PLATFORMS WITH DAIRY AND NON-TRADITIONAL PARTNERS IN THE SOUTHEAST UTILIZING DAIRY INNOVATION, CONSUMER INSIGHT AND MARKET TRENDS RESEARCH PROVIDED BY THE MILK REVITALIZATION ALLIANCE, DMI'S STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE TEAM AND NDC IN COLLABORATION WITH THE DAIRY FOOD AND RESEARCH CENTERS. UNDERSTANDING WHAT DRIVES CONSUMER FOOD AND BEVERAGE PURCHASING DECISIONS IS CRUCIAL TO STRATEGICALLY POSITIONING DAIRY IN TODAY'S EVERCHANGING MARKETPLACE.
