ADVOCATE FOR IDAHO FAMILY PHYSICIANS, EDUCATE MEMBERS ON HEALTH POLICY ISSUES AND PROVIDE CONTINUING EDUCATION, PROMOTE THE UNDERSTANDING OF OUR SPECIALTY AS THE FOUNDATION OF A HIGHER PERFORMING HEALTH SYSTEM, AND FACILITATE STUDENT INTEREST AND RECRUITMENT OF FAMILY PHYSICIANS TO IDAHO.

IN 2021 THE IAFP HELD A VIRTUAL LEGISLATIVE RECEPTION WHERE WE SHARED INFORMATION ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION IN IDAHO. WE ALSO PROVIDED EDUCATION AND OUTREACH TO LEGISLATORS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF EQUITABLE REIMBURSEMENT FOR VIRTUAL HEALTHCARE. WE DEVELOPED CONTENT AND INFORMATION ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF PUBLIC HEALTH POLICES DURING THE PANDEMIC AND ISSUED 3 OP-EDS THAT WERE FEATURED IN THE MEDIA ON THIS TOPIC.
IN THE SPRING OF 2021, WE HELD OUR FIRST EVER VIRTUAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR OUR MEMBERS. WE OFFERED 13 CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (CME CREDITS) OVER TWO DAYS AND WITH ~70 MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE. THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER AND FALL WE OFFERED AN EVENING CME SERIES ONLINE AND A VIRTUAL KNOWLEDGE SELF-ASSESSMENT. WE CONTINUED TO PROMOTE PHYSICIAN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT IN IDAHO THROUGH PROGRAMS DESIGNED FOR PREMEDICAL STUDENTS, MEDICAL STUDENTS, AND FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENTS. THE IAFP GAVE PRESENTATIONS TO WWAMI MEDICAL STUDENTS ONLINE AND HELD VIRTUAL MEETINGS WITH EVERY FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY IN THE STATE. WE PROVIDED FIVE SCHOLARSHIPS TO MEDICAL STUDENTS TO ATTEND THE AAFPS NATIONAL CONFERENCE AND PASSED A RESOLUTION ON VIRTUAL CARE AT THE AAFPS CONGRESS OF DELEGATES. WE ALSO PRODUCED A BROCHURE AND A VIDEO ABOUT GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION. WE ISSUED A QUARTERLY HARD COPY JOURNAL, SENT TWICE MONTHLY ENEWS COMMUNICATIONS, AND REBUILT AND UPDATED OUR WEBSITE.
