CRISPUS ATTUCKS CHARTER SCHOOL SERVES AT RISK YOUTH THAT HAVE DROPPED OUT OF THEIR HOME SCHOOL DISTRICT. THESE STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A THREE TRIMESTER PROGRAM THAT BUILDS THE WHOLE CHILD WITH A RIGOROUS ACADEMIC, JOB READINESS, AND CHARACTER BUILDING STRATEGY. IN THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR WE SERVED 114 STUDENTS. OUR ENROLLMENT OF STUDENTS IS COMPRISED MAINLY OF STUDENTS FROM THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF YORK, HOWEVER WE ARE SERVING STUDENTS FROM 8 SURROUNDING SCHOOL DISTRICTS AS WELL. THE MAXIMUM STUDENT TO TEACHER RATIO IS 14:1 AND THE STUDENTS WE SERVE ARE 17 TO 21 YEARS OF AGE. OUR PRETEST/POSTTEST DATA HAVE DISPLAYED A 2.0 AND MORE GAIN IN GRADE LEVELS OF GROWTH IN MATH AND READING FOR MOST OF OUR STUDENTS, AS MEASURED BY THE GATES MACGINITIE AND THE TOAP. WE ARE AFFLIATED WITH YOUTHBUILD USA, THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, AND OUR CHARTER IS GRANTED BY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF YORK. THE CRISPUS ATTUCKS CHARTER SCHOOL ACCEPTS APPLICATIONS ALL YEAR IN A ROLLING FASHION FOR THREE COHORTS BEGINNING IN AUGUST, NOVEMBER, AND FEBRUARY. SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS RECEIVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA AT A FORMAL CEREMONY HELD IN JUNE.
