LA ACADEMIA: THE PARTNERSHIP CHARTER SCHOOL (LA ACADEMIA) IS A DYNAMIC LEARNING COMMUNITY SUSTAINED BY COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS. LA ACADEMIA TRANSFORMS TODAY'S LEARNERS INTO TOMORROW'S LEADERS THROUGH INNOVATIVE INSTRUCTION, COMPREHENSIVE SCHOLAR SUPPORT, CULTURAL COMPETENCY, AND WORK-BASED LEARNING. LA ACADEMIA WILL SUPPORT DIFFERENT HOLISTIC VIEWS OF BOTH SCHOLARS AND FAMILIES. THE ORGANIZATION ENVISIONS THE SCHOLARS AS CRITICAL THINKERS AND GLOBAL CITIZENS, RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO LIFELONG LEARNING AND MEANINGFUL CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE WORLD.FOR THE 2020-2021 ACADEMIC YEAR, LA ACADEMIA PROVIDED A HOLISTIC EDUCATIONAL SETTING FOR AN AVERAGE OF 216 SCHOLARS IN GRADES 6 THROUGH 12. THE SCHOOL WAS 100% VIRTUAL FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR, WITH SCHOLARS RECEIVING ASYNCHRONOUS INSTRUCTION. THE SHIFT IN INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY RESULTED IN DECREASED SCHOLAR ENROLLMENT YEAR OVER YEAR. ALTHOUGH THE SCHOOL EXPERIENCED A DECREASE IN ENROLLMENT, THE SCHOOL ELECTED NOT TO REDUCE STAFFING DURING THE YEAR. INSTEAD, OPTING TO INCREASE ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND REALLOCATING NON-INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF MEMBERS TO ASSIST IN MEETING SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, HOUSING, AND FOOD NEEDS IDENTIFIED DURING THE PANDEMIC FOR BOTH STUDENT AND COMMUNITY.LA ACADEMIA WILL RESUME IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION FOR ALL SCHOLARS DURING THE 21-22 ACADEMIC YEAR. THE RETURN WILL ALLOW THE SCHOOL TO CONTINUE THE SUPPORT OF HOLISTIC VIEWS OF BOTH SCHOLARS AND FAMILIES. AT THE SAME TIME, FOCUSING ON ACHIEVING THE SCHOOL'S COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN GOALS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.
