DEVISED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FULL FOUR YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE POST HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION TO THE CHILDREN OF POLICE OFFICERS, FIREFIGHTERS, CORRECTIONS OFFICERS, RESCUE SQUAD AND EMERGENCY PERSONNEL WHO ARE KILLED OR PERMANENTLY DISABLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY.

THE GENERAL POLICY OF THE FUND IS TO GRANT SCHOLARSHIPS OF LAST RESORT. TO THE EXTENT OF MONIES AVAILABLE, THE FUNDS GENERAL POLICY IS TO GRANT FULL SCHOLARSHIP TO EACH QUALIFIED CHILD OF A POLICEMAN, FIREMAN, RESCUE SQUAD, CORRECTIONS OFFICER OR EMERGENCY SERVICE PERSONNEL KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. FULL OR PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS MAY, IN THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD COMMITTEE, BE GRANTED TO EACH QUALIFIED CHILD OF POLICEMEN, FIREMEN, RESCUE SQUAD, CORRECTIONS OFFICER OR EMERGENCY SERVICE PERSONNEL WHO BECOME PERMANENTLY DISABLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY.
