SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: PA LAW ENCOURAGES 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS TO INTERVENE IN THE LIVES OF PRE-K, ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY STUDENTS WHO DESIRE TO ATTEND A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL AND WHO ARE AT RISK OF RECEIVING A DEFICIENT EDUCATION WITH INSUFFICIENT FINANCES AVAILABLE TO MAKE DESIRED ADJUSTMENT. IN 2020-21, 17 SCHOOLS WORKED TOGETHER TO RAISE FUNDS AND DISTRIBUTE SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS TO 217 STUDENTS WITH AWARDS RANGING FROM $17.75 TO $3,303, DEPENDING UPON THE RESULTS OF A NEEDS ASSESSMENT PROCESS. DOCUMENTATION OF AWARDS DISTRIBUTED IS MAINTAINED IN THE ASSOCIATION OFFICE. AN INDEPENDENT CPA REVIEWS THE FINANCIAL RECORDS AND PROCEDURES FOR EACH FISCAL YEAR TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH THE PENNSYLVANIA LAW, AND HIS REPORT IS DISTRIBUTED TO THE BOARD, SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE, DONORS, AND THE SCHOOLS WITH SCHOLARSHIP-RECEIVING CHILDREN ENROLLED. AT LEAST 45 VOLUNTEERS ARE INVOLVED WITH THIS PROGRAM.


NEWS NOTES, SENTINEL, EDUCATION SUPPLIES: AN ADMINISTRATIVE NEWSLETTER TO ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF IN 53 SCHOOLS, A NEWSLETTER TO NEARLY 500 RECIPIENTS WITH GENERAL CIRCULATION THEREAFTER, SPECIAL TECHNICAL REPORTS TO 53 ADMINISTRATORS AND LOANING EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS AND SIMILAR TO THE 53 SCHOOLS AS REQUESTED. THIS INCLUDES TIME FOR RESEARCH, READING AND WRITING AND ARE FIGURED IN WITH EXPENSES FOR THOSE PROGRAMS. PARENTHETICALLY, THE MAJORITY OF THE RESEARCH AND READING TIME FACILITATES THE CONSULTATION PROGRAMS DESCRIBED HEREAFTER.


CONFERENCE: THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS A TWO-DAY TRAINING SESSION FOR ALL STAFF MEMBERS OF ALL JOB DESCRIPTIONS TO REINFORCE THE RELIGIOUS CALLING THAT EACH CARRIES AS THEY WORK IN THEIR OWN SCHOOL. DELEGATES CAN ACCESS 100 WORKSHOPS, GENERAL ASSEMBLY PERIODS, AND EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITS IN ADDITION TO EXCHANGING IDEAS WITH THEIR EDUCATIONAL PEERS. ATTENDANCE BY STAFF USUALLY RRANGES FROM 450-525. APPROXIMATELY 20 VOLUNTEERS USUALLY ASSIST WITH THE PRE-CONFERENCE DETAILS, REGISTRATION, RECORDING/EDITING OF SESSIONS, AND TRANSPORTATION SHUTTLE. BECAUSE OF COVID RESTRICTIONS, THE 2020 CONFERENCE WAS HELD VIRTUALLY FOR THE TWO DAYS. DELEGATES COULD ACCESS OVER 100 WORKSHOPS, GENERAL ASSEMBLY PERIODS, AND EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITS. TOTAL ATTENDANCE WAS ABOUT 300.
