EDCNP IS A REGIONAL MULTI COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY PROVIDING LEADERSHIP, PLANNING, EXPERTISE & SERVICES TO REGIONAL & LOCAL GOVERNMENTS, BUSINESSES & INDIVIDUALS THROUGH COLLABORATIONS & PARTNERSHIPS TO ENHANCE THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA. EDCNP'S PROGRAMS & SERVICES ADD VALUE TO THE REGION.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - DURING THE PAST YEAR EDCNP CLOSED 53 LOANS FOR A TOTAL OF $6,744,000 & LEVERAGED $17,635,347 IN PRIVATE/PUBLIC FINANCING. EDCNP'S DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE RESULTED IN 408 JOBS BEING RETAINED/CREATED. EDCNP DEPLOYED NEARLY $2 MILLION IN COVID RELIEF DOLLARS TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES. EDCNP ASSISTED WITH THE DEPLOYMENT OF COVID HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY RECOVERY PROGRAM (CHIRP) FUNDS WITHIN OUR REGION, DISBURSING MUCH NEEDED FUNDS TO HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS.EDCNP ASSISTED 66 BUSINESSES IN VARIOUS ASPECTS OF EXPORTING & ACQUIRED 17 NEW CLIENTS. COMPANIES REPORTED 162 EXPORT ACTIONS & 19 CLIENTS REPORTED $58,527,996 IN EXPORT SALES & 500 JOBS BEING RETAINED/CREATED. EDCNP PROMOTED "BRINGING THE WORLD TO PA" WHICH WAS HOSTED VIRTUALLY AS A SERIES OF WEBINARS FEATURING PA'S AUTHORIZED TRADE REPRESENTATIVE HIGHLIGHTING INTERNATIONAL MARKETS, TRENDS & INDUSTRY SECTORS. EDCNP ALSO OFFERED FIVE EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS & PARTNERED TO HOST EVENTS PROMOTING THE PA GLOBAL ACCESS PROGRAM. EDCNP ALSO ASSISTED COMPANIES WITH RECEIVING PRIME CONTRACT AWARDS TOTALING $152,641,943 & SUBCONTRACT AWARDS TOTALING $681,083 WHICH SUPPORTED 400 JOBS. EDCNP CONDUCTED 68 INITIAL COUNSELING SESSIONS WITH AREA BUSINESSES AND 3,914 FOLLOW-UP COUNSELING SESSIONS.


ECONOMIC & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT - DURING THE PAST YEAR EDCNP OPERATED NONPROFIT ASSISTANCE AND RESEARCH/INFORMATION CENTERS, THE BLUE RIBBON TASK FORCE, MAINTAINED THE COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES (CEDS) PLAN, ADMINISTERED STARTUP NEPA (AN ANGEL INVESTMENT FUND), PROVIDED ECONOMIC IMPACT MODELING SERVICES, PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR GRANT SEEKING, WRITING AND DEVELOPMENT AND ASSISTED CLIENTS WITH DEVELOPING COMMUNITY FINANCING OPTIONS (LOANS, TAX CREDITS, GRANTS) FOR PROJECTS.


PLANNING & GOVERNMENT - DURING THE PAST YEAR, EDCNP PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING, GOVERNMENT & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT, GIS AND RESEARCH ASSISTANCE WITHIN THE REGION. THE TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DIVISION MAINTAINS THE TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (TIP) AND THE LONG RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN FOR THE NEPA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION (MPO). DURING THE PAST YEAR, EDCNP COMPLETED AN UPDATE OF THE REGION'S TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (2021-2024 TIP), PROVIDED INFRASTRUCTURE ASSET MAPPING AND GIS SUPPORT, INITIATED A PARKING STUDY, TRAFFIC CIRCULATION AND COMPLETE STREETS ANALYSIS FOR MILFORD BOROUGH, AND MANAGED THE LOCAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LTAP) WHICH PROVIDES TECHNICAL TRAINING FOR ELECTED AND MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS AND ROAD MAINTENANCE CREWS. IN ADDITION, EDCNP PROVIDED ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT TO PENNDOT WITH APPLYING AND SECURING $21 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDING THROUGH THE INFRASTRUCTURE FOR REBUILDING AMERICA (INFRA) GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE ROUTE 61 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT. IN COORDINATION WITH FOUR OTHER PLANNING AREAS, EDCNP SECURED $280,000 IN SUPLEMENTAL PLANNING FUNDS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA FREIGHT PLAN. EDCNP ALSO COLLECTED HIGHWAY PERFORMANCE MONITORING SYSTEM (HPMS) DATA ON THE EXTENT, CONDITION, PERFORMANCE, USE AND OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE REGION'S HIGHWAYS AT OVER 90 LOCATIONS WITHIN THE NEPA MPO REGION.
