THE OBJECTS OF PHILADELPHIA COUNCIL, AFL-CIO (THE COUNCIL) SHALL BE TO PROMOTE, THROUGH APPROPRIATE ACTIVITIES IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA COVERED BY THE CHARTER OF THE COUNCIL, THE PRINCIPLES OF THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF LABOR AND CONGRESS OF INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING: TO ASSIST IN FURTHERING THE APPROPRIATE OBJECTS AND POLICIES OF THE AFL-CIO OR ORGANIZATIONS AFFILIATED WITH THE AFL-CIO; TO SERVE AS A MEANS OF EXCHANGING INFORMATION AMONG AFFILIATED BODIES ON MATTER OF COMMON INTEREST; TO PROVIDE AID, COOPERATION AND ASSISTANCE TO AFFILIATED LOCAL UNIONS AND OTHER AFFILIATED BODIES IN THEIR COMMON AND INDIVIDUAL ENDEAVORS.
