Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE HUMAN SERVICES PROVIDERS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, INC. IS AWARE THAT COMMUNITY-BASED HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES PROVIDERS ARE FACED WITH A SHORTAGE OF QUALIFIED AND ADEQUATELY EDUCATED STAFF FOR MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP POSITIONS. AS A MEANS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL, WE OFFER THE WORKFORCE A VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL OPTIONS WHICH INCLUDE: CERTIFICATE IN NONPROFIT HUMAN SERVICES MANAGEMENT PROGRAM, A GRADUATE-LEVEL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM FOR MID-CAREER HUMAN SERVICE PROFESSIONALS (OFFERED IN TWO LOCATIONS) AS WELL AS OUR PROVIDERS' EACADEMY, AN ONLINE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR HUMAN SERVICE PROVIDERS. MANY ORGANIZATIONS LACK A CAREER LADDER TO RETAIN AND PROFESSIONALLY DEVELOP KEY STAFF FOR TODAY'S TECHNOLOGICALLY SOPHISTICATED AND STRINGENT REGULATORY HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE ENVIRONMENTS. TODAY'S OPERATING ENVIRONMENT ALSO REQUIRES STAFF WITH HIGHER LEVELS OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE CLIENTS, CONSUMERS AND PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS.SOME EMPLOYEES WITH PROMISING LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL ARE LEAVING COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS AND SOME POSITIONS REMAIN VACANT FOR EXTENDED PERIODS. FURTHER, THE COST OF PROVIDING QUALITY EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING INITIATIVES AND PROGRAMS CAN BE COST PROHIBITIVE TO SOME EMPLOYEES AND ORGANIZATIONS PRIMARILY DUE TO LOW RATES OF GOVERNMENT REIMBURSEMENT. OUR CERTIFICATE AND LEARNING PROGRAMS ARE EFFECTIVE AND AFFORDABLE FOR MANY OF OUR PROVIDERS.TWO INTER-RELATED STRATEGIES ARE UTILIZED:1. GRADUATE-LEVEL CERTIFICATES: FOR FAR TOO MANY, A QUALITY GRADUATE-LEVEL EDUCATION IS FINANCIALLY OUT OF REACH TO OBTAIN, AND THE FOUNDATION, WITH ITS MEMBERS SUPPORT, HAS DEVELOPED CUSTOMIZED CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS ASSOCIATED WITH AN ACCREDITED COLLEGIATE EDUCATION. THESE CERTIFICATES ARE USUALLY TAUGHT ON A HIGHER EDUCATION CAMPUS AND WITH APPROVED FACULTY. THE HUMAN SERVICES PROVIDERS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, INC. OFFERS THE CERTIFICATE IN NONPROFIT HUMAN SERVICE MANAGEMENT THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH SUFFOLK AND CLARK UNIVERSITIES. PARTICIPANTS CAN ALSO CONTINUE THE PROGRAM WITH ADVANCED STUDIES IN ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE, A COURSE ON STRATEGIC PLANNING AND EXECUTIVE LEVEL OVERSIGHT. THE PROGRAM IS TAUGHT BY ADJUNCT FACULTY AND CONSISTS OF GRADUATE-LEVEL ACADEMIC COURSEWORK WITH PRACTICAL EXERCISES IN FULL-DAY SESSIONS OVER 10 MONTHS. PARTICPANTS WHO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE PROGRAM RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE ISSUED JOINTLY BY THE MASSACHUSETTS COUNCIL OF HUMAN SERVICE PROVIDERS AND THE PARTICIPATING UNIVERSITY. THE PARTICIPANTS WHO EXCELLED IN THE PROGRAM WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE WITH DISTINCTION. THE PARTICIPATING UNIVERSITIES ALLOW ELIGIBLE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS TO RECEIVE UP TO 12 GRADUATE LEVEL CREDITS TO BE APPLIED TOWARDS CERTAIN MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAMS. 2. ELEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: PROVIDERS EACADEMY IS AN ONLINE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS) THAT AIMS TO 1) SUPPORT AND PROFESSIONALIZE THE WORKFORCE OF OUR MEMBERSHIP THROUGH AN ONLINE OPPORTUNITY FOR LEARNING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT THAT INCREASES FLEXIBILITY AND ACCESS, 2) INCREASE EFFICIENCY AND COMPLIANCE AMONG MEMBER AGENCIES BY MANAGING AND TRACKING ALL EMPLOYEES' IN-PERSON AND ONLINE TRAININGS AND 3) SUPPORT AN ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH MEMBER AGENICES CAN CREATE THEIR OWN LEARNING AND HAVE IT ACCESSED THROUGH THIS PLATFORM.
