EDUCATION AND STUDENT OUTREACH HSVMA FOCUSES ON PROVIDING EDUCATION FOR VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS RELATED TO ANIMAL WELFARE ISSUES. HSVMA'S CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAM INCLUDES A WEBINAR SERIES FOR VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS THAT FOCUSES ON ANIMAL WELFARE TOPICS. DURING 2023, HSVMA HOSTED SIX LIVE WEBINARS ON TOPICS INCLUDING MULTI-CAT HOUSEHOLDS, INCREASING VETERINARY TECHNICIAN UTILIZATION, DIVERSITY IN VETERINARY MEDICINE, HEALTH AND WELFARE ISSUES RELATED TO BRACHYCEPHALIC DOGS, VETERINARY WELL-BEING, AND EQUINE BEHAVIOR AND WELFARE. HSVMA ALSO HAS APPROXIMATELY 40 ARCHIVED WEBINARS ON ANIMAL WELFARE TOPICS AVAILABLE FOR VETERINARY CONTINUING EDUCATION. APPROXIMATELY 800 VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS PARTICIPATED IN HSVMA'S WEBINAR PROGRAM DURING 2024. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)


ADVOCACY DURING 2023, HSVMA MOBILIZED MORE THAN 1,500 VETERINARY PROFESSIONALS (VETERINARIANS, VETERINARY TECHNICIANS, VETERINARY STUDENTS AND VETERINARY TECHNICIAN STUDENTS) TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN ADVOCACY EFFORTS IN THE ANIMAL WELFARE ARENA. HSVMA ADVOCACY EFFORTS ARE AIDED BY THE HSVMA BOARD OF DIRECTORS, THE HSVMA LEADERSHIP COUNCIL, AND THE HSVMA STATE REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM WHICH HAS VOLUNTEER VETERINARY MEMBERS REPRESENTING THE ORGANIZATION IN 34 STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
