HEALTHCARE IN 2021 AND THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE CENTRAL PENN BUSINESS GROUP ON HEALTH IN CENTRAL PA CANNOT BE ADDRESSED WITHOUT THE CONTINUED ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF THE PANDEMIC DUE TO COVID-19. WHILE SOME SHORT-TERM IMPACTS ARE CLEAR, THE LONGER AND POTENTIALLY MORE SERIOUS CHANGES TO OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM ARE NOT SO READILY APPARENT. ISSUES SUCH AS MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING REPRESENT A SHORT- AND LONG-TERM CHALLENGE FOR OUR CURRENT HEALTHCARE DELIVERY SYSTEM.WE DO BELIEVE THAT OUR MISSION TO PROMOTE THE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN THE QUALITY, COST, ACCESS AND PATIENT EXPERIENCE OF HEALTHCARE IS MORE RELEVANT THAN EVER. THE CPBGH IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND UNIQUE RESOURCES THAT PROVIDES A FORUM AND A VOICE FOR CENTRAL PA'S BUSINESS COMMUNITY. WE DO THIS THROUGH OUR THREE CORE STRATEGIES OF EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY, COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIP, AND PRODUCTS AND SERVICES.IN 2021, WE POSTPONED ONE MAJOR EVENT, THE HEALTH SUMMIT, WHICH WAS A COLLABORATIVE DECISION WITH LIVE WELL LANCASTER.WE CONTINUED OUR PARTNERSHIPS WITH INNOVU FOR THE CENTRAL PA REGIONAL DATA COHORT WHICH REPRESENTS OVER 100,000 LIVES AND MORE THAN 100 EMPLOYERS AND WITH ABLEPAY, WHICH OFFERS MEMBERS FINANCIAL DISCOUNTS AND FLEXIBLE PAYMENT OPTIONS AT PARTICIPATING HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS. OUR MEMBERSHIP REMAINS IN EXCESS OF 100 COMPANIES, REPRESENTING EMPLOYERS WITH A FEW TO A FEW THOUSAND EMPLOYEES!THE MOST SUCCESSFUL CPBGH MEMBER EVENT OF 2021 WAS THE CPBGH FORECAST BREAKFAST HELD IN DECEMBER 2021. THE CHIEF EPIDEMIOLOGIST FROM UPMC HEALTH ADDRESSED THE MOST CURRENT AND PROSPECTIVE FUTURE IMPLICATIONS OF COVID 19. THE FEATURED SEGMENT OF THE EVENT INCLUDED A PANEL OF THE CEO'S AND SR. VP OF ALL FOUR OF THE LOCAL HEALTH/HOSPITAL SYSTEMS. IT WAS AN OPEN TOPIC DISCUSSION FORUM THAT PROVIDED ATTENDEES WITH A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO HEAR FROM LOCAL HEALTHCARE SR. EXECS. ON THEIR VISION OF THEIR RESPECTIVE SYSTEMS AS WELL AS THE FUTURE TRENDS OF THE HEALTHCARE INDUSTRY OVERALL. THE EVENT HAD NEARLY 200 ATTENDEES AND GENERATED THE MAJORITY OF THE NET REVENUE FOR CPBGH FOR 2021!
