NYSHA WORKS TO ADDRESS AND PREVENT ANIMAL CRUELTY THROUGH EDUCATION AND ACTION. WE CONDUCT WORKSHOPS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT ON ANTI-CRUELTY LAWS AND ENFORCEMENT; COOPERATE WITH AND SUPPORT OTHER HUMANE ORGANIZATIONS; PROVIDE ASSISTANCE AND REFERRALS FOR THE PUBLIC; ADVOCATE FOR MORE PROTECTIVE LEGISLATION FOR ANIMALS.

HAVE PROVIDED ASSISTANCE AND ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC AND ORGANIZATIONS WITH ANIMAL CRUELTY COMPLAINTS AND INVESTIGATIONS; HAVE WORKED WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO HOLD WORKSHOPS FOR POLICE, SPCAS, AND OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES ON THE ANIMAL CRUELTY LAWS AND THEIR ENFORCEMENT; PRODUCED BOOK ON THE LINK BETWEEN ANIMAL ABUSE AND HUMAN VIOLENCE WHICH ARE BEING MADE AVAILABLE TO DISTRICT ATTORNEYS, JUDGES, AND OTHERS; HAVE PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO THE PUBLIC WITH SPAYING/NEUTERING THEIR ANIMALS; HAVE WORKED TOWARD STRONGER LAWS TO PROTECT ANIMALS; PROVIDED INFORMATION ON EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN AND HOW TO OPT OUT OF DISSECTION; HAVE PROVIDED INFORMATION AND SUPPORT IN RESPONSE TO REQUESTS ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS IN ORDER TO BETTER THE LIVES OF ANIMALS.
