THE EDEN SCHOOL SERVES CHILDREN WITH AUTISM FROM AGES 3 -21. THE EDEN SCHOOL PROVIDES EDUCATION IN AREAS OF SPEECH AND LANGUAGE, ADAPTIVE PHYSICAL EDUCATION, ACADEMICS, SOCIAL SKILLS, PREVOCATIONAL AND EMPLOYMENT TRAINING. WRAPAROUND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO FAMILIES IN THE FORM OF RESPITE CARE, HOME PROGRAM, PARENT TRAINING AND AN EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM. THE EDEN SCHOOL SERVES 77 STUDENTS FULL TIME. IT IS ACCREDITED BY THE NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR THE ACCREDITATION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES, AND IT IS APPROVED BY THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. THE OUTREACH DEPARTMENT, PROVIDES SERVICES TO NON-EDEN SCHOOL STUDENTS ON A PART TIME BASIS AND WORKS WITH APPROXIMATELY 10 STUDENTS/FAMILIES AND 4 SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
EDEN AUTISM SERVICES' ADULT RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM OFFERS 24-HOUR SUPPORT AND TRAINING FOR ADULTS WITH AUTISM. OPERATING BOTH SUPPORTED APARTMENT AND GROUP LIVING ENVIRONMENTS, THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE CONTINUED GROWTH AND INDEPENDENCE OF EACH INDIVIDUAL IT SERVES. EDEN CURRENTLY SERVES 111 PARTICIPANTS THROUGH ITS RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM.
EDEN AUTISM SERVICES' ADULT DAY & EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT TRAINING, COMMUNITY JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES, ALONG WITH TEACHING RECREATION AND LEISURE SKILLS THROUGH COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT FOR ADULTS WITH AUTISM. THIS PROGRAM CURRENTLY SERVES 140 PARTICIPANTS PROVIDING A WIDE RANGE OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, INCLUDING SECURE, CENTER-BASED WORK, SUPPORTED COMMUNITY JOB PLACEMENTS, AND COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT, ALONG WITH DAILY ACITIVITIES IN THE COMMUNITY AND EXPANSION OF DAILY LIVING SKILLS, SUCH AS LUNCH MAKING.
