MONTCLAIR AMBULANCE UNIT PROVIDES 9-1-1 EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE (EMS) RESPONSE AND AMBULATORY TRANSPORT, PRIMARILY FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF MONTCLAIR RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES, IN ADDITION TO CALLS FOR MUTUAL AID RESPONSE TO THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES OF GLEN RIDGE, BLOOMFIELD, CEDAR GROVE, AND VERONA. IN ADDITION TO EMERGENCY RESPONSE, THE UNIT OFFERS CLASSES TO SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY GROUPS, AND RESIDENTS ON TOPICS OF EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS, FIRST AID AND BABYSITTER TRAINING, AND CPR/AED CERTIFICATIONS. MAU IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF MUNICIPAL EMS RESPONSE (ALONG WITH POLICE AND FIRE) AND CONDUCTS TRAINING FOR THE MONTCLAIR FIRE DEPT ON OXYGEN USAGE, FIRST AID, AED, AND CPR TRAINING.
