NCLP IS A LEGAL DEFENSE ORGANIZATION WHICH FOCUSES ON THE PROTECTION AND PROMOTION OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, THE SANCTITY OF LIFE, TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE, PARENTAL RIGHTS, AND OTHER CIVIL LIBERTIES.

CROSS CULTURE CHRISTIAN CENTER V NEWSOM THE NCLPS DEAN BROYLES CONTINUED TO SERVE AS LEAD COUNSEL IN THIS FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS LAWSUIT CHALLENGING DISCRIMINATORY STATE AND COUNTY PANDEMICS RESTRICTIONS ON PLACES OF WORSHIP AS VIOLATING THE FREE EXERCISE CLAUSE OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION. NCLP ULTIMATELY PREVAILED AND SETTLED THIS CASE IN 2021 IN THE MIDDLE OF APPEALLING A PRELMIMINARY INJUNCTION DENIAL TO U.S. COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE NINTH CIRCUIT. DEAN BROYLES ALSO SERVED AS CO-COUNSEL IN THREE OTHER FEDERAL LAWSUITS CHALLENGING RESTRICTIONS ON PLACE OF WORSHIP, THE FIRST SETTLED SUCCESSFULLY IN 2021, THE SECOND PARTIALLY SETTLED IN 2021, AND THE THIRD HAS NOT SETTLED AND IS CONTINUING TO BE LITIGATED. STATE OF CALIFORNIA AGREED TO PAY 400,000 IN ATTORNEYS FEES AND SAN JUAQUIN COUNTY PAID 100,000 IN DAMAGES TO CROSS CULTURE CHRISTIAN CENTER. THE SUCCESSFUL RESULT OF THIS LITIGATION IS THE ST OF CALIFORNIA ENTERED A PERMANENT STATEWIDE INJUNCTION, AND PLACES OF WORSHIP ARE NO LONGER UNFAIRLY RESTRICTED COMPARED WITH ESSENTIAL SERVICES AND BUSINESSES.
VACCINE MANDATES AT WORK IN THE FALL OF 2021, NCLP ADVISED DOZENS OF EMPLOYEES SEEKING RELIGIOUS ACCOMODATION EXEMPTIONS TO EMPLOYER VACCINE MANDATES, INCLUDING PROVIDING TRAINING HOSTED AT A LOCAL CHURCH.
