FOOD PANTRY THE FOOD PANTRY PROVIDES NONPERISHABLE FOOD, PRODUCE, MEAT AND FRESH BREAD, 3-DAYS PER WEEK, ALL AT NO CHARGE, AND RUNS KIDS OF HOPE,A SUMMER AND SCHOOL BREAKS LUNCH PROGRAM FOR THE DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN OF THE COMMUNITY. THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERS WITH SECOND HARVEST FOOD BANK OF CENTRAL FLORIDA, AND THE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TEFAP). HOPE'S EMERGENCY NETWORK SERVICE(HENS) DELIVERS FOOD TO HOMEBOUND ELDERLY OR DISABLED WHO CANNOT GET TO HOPE'S FACILITY. THE FOOD PANTRY IS SUPPORTED BY A LARGE TEAM OF VOLUNTEERS THAT ASSIST THE STAFF TO RUN THE DAILY OPERATIONS, COORDINATE PICK-UPS AND ONGOING FOOD DRIVES HOSTED BY LOCAL SCHOOLS, CHURCHES, BUSINESSES AND MANY OTHER ORGANIZATIONS. THE KIDS OF HOPE LUNCH PROGRAM IS FUNDED PRIMARILY THROUGH GRANTS AND FOOD DONATIONS.
THE HOPE CHEST- HOPE'S THRIFT STORE/BOUTIQUE IS BLESSED WITH MANY QUALITY DONATIONS, SOME NEW AND GENTLY USED, ALL FROM OUR COMMUNITY AND FOR SALE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. WE ACCEPT CLOTHING, SHOES, SPORTS GEAR, WORKING ELECTRONICS, MUSIC, MOVIES, FURNITURE, NEW BEDDING, JEWELRY, TOOLS AND LAWN EQUIPMENT, INFANT SUPPLIES, HOUSEWARES AND ANTIQUES. WE PROVIDE BASIC NECESSITIES TO THOSE WHO COME FOR ASSISTANCE AT NO CHARGE VIA A VOUCHER PROGRAM THROUGH OUR RESOURCE CENTER, PARTNER SERVICE AGENCIES OR CHURCH REFERRALS. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SALES ARE USED TO COVER GENERAL OPERATIONS FUNDING OF HOPE'S MISSION.
RESOURCE CENTER- AT THIS TIME WE ACCEPT WALK-INS, REFERRALS AND ASSIST INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WITH THE FOLLOWING: -BASIC NEEDS (FOOD, CLOTHING) -CASE MANAGEMENT -ACCESS TO RESOURCES -FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE -EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS -FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT -COMPUTER CENTER/ACCESS ASSISTANCE IN APPLYING FOR MEDICAID AND FOOD STAMPS AS WELL AS RESUME PREPARATION. OUR GOAL IS TO FOCUS ON PREVENTION AND PROMOTE ACCOUNTABILITY SO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES CAN TAKE THE STEPS NECESSARY TO MOVE ON TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY.
