THE SAVANNAH BOOK FESTIVAL IS AN ANNUAL EVENT, FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, IN CELEBRATION OF THE WRITTEN WORK AND ITS ROLE IN IMPROVING THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE. OUR MISSION IS TO PROMOTE READING, WRITING, AND CIVIL CONVERSATION.

Part 3 - Line 4a
LITERARY FESTIVAL HELD EACH FEBRUARY IN SAVANNAH THAT FEATURES AUTHORS AND EDUCATIONAL EVENTS. THE FESTIVAL IS A FUN, INFORMATIVE, AND ENTERTAINING THREE-DAY EVENT IN FEBRUARY EACH YEAR THAT CELEBRATES BOOKS AND THE WRITTEN WORD. THE 2017 FESTIVAL ATTRACTED OVER 10,000 ATTENDEES. OVER FORTY BEST SELLING AUTHORS FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY COME TO SAVANNAH TO SHOWCASE THEIR WORK TO AUDIENCES OF BOOK LOVERS. THE AUTHORS PERFORM COMMUNITY OUTREACH BY PRESENTING THEIR WORK TO STUDENTS IN THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, AND UNIVERSITIES. OVER 240 INDIVIDUALS FROM THE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO MAKE THE FESTIVAL A SUCCESS.
