TO PROVIDE SAFETY TRAINING AND EDUCATION TO THE COMMUNITY VIA SPONSORSHIP OF LOCAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING ACTIVITIES, VIDEO PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION, BILLBOARD AND PRINT MEDIA CAMPAIGNS, ANNUAL CALENDAR PRODUCTIONS AND DISTRIBUTION, AND SUPPORT FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS GUIDE FOUND IN LOCAL PHONE BOOKS.


TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN EMERGENCY SIREN AND WARNINGS SYSTEMS IN COORDINATION WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO NOTIFY THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF TORNADOES, HURRICANES, FLOODING, CHEMICAL EMERGENCIES, AND OTHER SERIOUS SITUATIONS, WHICH MIGHT HARM THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
