TRAFFIC SAFETY PLUS PROVIDES A VARIETY OF DEFENSIVE DRIVING TRAINING COURSES DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SAFE DRIVING. THE COURSES ARE OFFERED ONLINE AND AT 11 LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEBRASKA,TAUGHT BY 16 PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS PRIMARILY ON WEEKENDS AND OCCASIONALLY ON WEEKDAY EVENINGS. SOME OF THE COURSES OF INSTRUCTION ARE:DRUG AND ALCOHOL PROGRAM FOR FIRST TIME DRIVERS - THIS PROGRAM WAS CREATED TO INTRODUCE NEW DRIVERS TO THE IMPACT ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUGS HAVE ON THEIR BODIES AS WELL AS THEIR DRIVING BEHAVIOR AND SKILLS.TRAFFIC SURVIVAL LEVEL 1 - THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR THE INDIVIDUAL WHO IS ATTENDING THE PROGRAM ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS TO RECEIVE A REDUCTION IN POINTS ON THEIR LICENSE; TO DISMISS A TICKET; TO RECEIVE AN INSURANCE DISCOUNT; AS AN EMPLOYER REQUIREMENT; OR TO SATISFY A COURT ORDER.TRAFFIC SURVIVAL LEVEL 3 - THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR THE PERSON WHO HAS HAD THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OR HAS BEEN COURT ORDERED TO ATTEND AN ADVANCED PROGRAM.SENIOR DRIVER - THIS PROGRAM MAY PROVIDE MATURE DRIVERS AN INSURANCE DISCOUNT FROM THEIR INSURANCE COMPANY OR CAN BE USED BY SENIOR CENTERS AND ORGANIZATIONS CONCERNED ABOUT MATURE DRIVERS AS PART OF A PREVENTION PLAN.A PORTION OF THE REGISTRATION FEES PAID BY STUDENTS IS FORWARDED TO THE CITY OR COUNTY IN WHICH THE TRAFFIC DIVERSION PROGRAM IS LOCATED.
