TO PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS WHO RESIDE WITHIN THE HEALDSBURG UNIFIED HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR POST SECONDARY (COLLEGE OR TRADE SCHOOL) EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPENSES.

FUNDS PROVIDED FOR HIGHER EDUCATION OF SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTSMAJOR PROJECTS FOR OUR FOUNDATION CRAB FEAST AND AUCTION VOLUNTEER HOURS 200 HOURS - $193,000 WAS RAISED. NET $161,000 AS REALIZED. AN EVENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE HEALDSBURG ROTARY CLUB WAS ESTABLISHED TO MANAGE THE EVENT AND A FEE OF $15,000 WAS PAID. EVENT DUTIES WERE FINANCIAL AND AUCTION ACCOUNTING, SOLICITATION AND COLLECTION OF DONATIONS, PUBLICITY FOR THE EVENT, SALE OF TICKETS, PROCESSING AND COLLECTION OF PAYMENTS, DISBURSEMENT OF AUCTION WINNINGS AND DINNER PREPARATION. THE NON-PROFIT AUCTION COMPANY, GREATER GIVING, PROVIDED THE SOFTWARE FOR THE EVENT. CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WERE COLLECTED BY THE ROTARY CLUB, AND THEN PASSED THROUGH TO THE FOUNDATION FOR ACCOUNTING. OUR GRANT AND DONATIONS FOLLOWS THE IRS CHARITABLE NON-PROFIT REGULATIONS AND IS GUIDED BY THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL CONSTITUTION AND OUR BY-LAWS. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS AUTONOMY TO DIRECT GRANTS TO VARIOUS GROUPS IN OUR COMMUNITY AS WELL AS INTERNATIONALLY. IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS, WE FUNDED COMMUNITY PROJECTS THAT INSTALLED PUBLIC SWINGS FOR HANDICAPPED CHILDREN, FUNDED THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT TO ELIMINATE FIRE HAZARDS IN OUR AREA, FUNDED FOOD BANK EQUIPMENT, FUNDED THE DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY FOR HEALDSBURG AND GEYSERVILLE CHILDREN, AND PROVIDED HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WITH COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION. IN 2022, WE FUNDED 17 NEW AND 16 RETURNING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $43,500. OVER THE LAST 10 YEARS, WE HAVE FUNDED OVER $330,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS. IN 2022, WE ALSO FUNDED TWO TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS TOTALING $3,000 TO UNDERSERVED GUATEMALAN STUDENTS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION IN THEIR COUNTRY. BOTH FINANCIAL AND PHYSICAL LABOR WAS SUPPLIED TO 8 DIFFERENT NON-PROFIT GROUPS IN THE 2022-2023 YEAR. THE TOTAL GRANTS AND DONATIONS FOR THAT TIME PERIOD WAS $44,000. THE TOTAL VOLUNTEER HOURS WERE WELL OVER 300 HOURS. OUR PROJECTS IMPACTED AT LEAST 15,000 PEOPLE IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AND 300 INTERNATIONALLY.
