THE MAJORITY OF CURRENT YEAR EXPENDITURES WERE FOR ITEMS THAT TEACHERS REQUESTED IN ORDER TO HELP WITH CURRICULUM AND CLASSROOM ENHANCEMENTS. THIS YEAR MARSHPOINT ELEMENTARY HAD APPROXIMATELY 800 STUDENTS RANGING FROM PRE-KINDERGARTEN ALL THE WAY THROUGH FIFTH GRADE. IN ADDITION TO A NUMBER OF CLASSROOM ENHANCEMENTS, WE ALSO PROVIDED A NUMBER OF ENHANCEMENTS TO THE SCHOOL GROUNDS IN ORDER TO ENCOURAGE OUTDOOR LEARNING AS WELL AS MORE ACTIVE PLAY DURING RECESS. THESE OUTDOOR ENHANCEMENTS INCLUDED PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT, GARDEN BOXES, A GREENHOUSE, A CHICKEN COUP AND CHICKENS.
