PEACE THROUGH BUSINESS IS THE INSTITUTE'S PRIMARY PROGRAM. WE TRAIN WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS FROM AFGHANISTAN AND RWANDA IMPLEMENTED IN A 3 PART PROGRAM: (1) IN-COUNTRY EDUCATION - SELECTED STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A 10 WEEK BUSINESS BASICS TRAINING COURSE RESULTING WITH THE CREATION OF AN INDEPTH BUSINESS PLAN, (2) UP TO 19 STUDENTS FROM EACH COUNTRY ARE SELECTED TO TRAVEL TO THE UNITED STATES FOR 3 WEEKS OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING. THIS TRAINING INCLUDES A WEEK OF LECTURES AND ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS WITH AMERICAN WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS, A WEEK OF MENTORSHIP WHERE THE STUDENTS ARE MATCHED WITH AN AMERICAN WOMAN BUSINESS OWNER FROM A SIMILAR INDUSTRY AND PARTICIPATION IN AN INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S ECONOMIC SUMMIT WHERE DISCUSSIONS CIRCLE AROUND THE ROLE WOMEN CAN EFFECTIVELY PLAY IN THE ECONOMY OF A NATION.
