WENDY PARK FOUNDATION WAS FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING AND SUPPORTING CHARITABLE ENDEAVORS TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT, MAINTENANCE, AND OPERATIONS OF WENDY PARK, A PARK IN THE CITY OF CLEVELAND, OH.

WENDY PARK FOUNDATION OPERATES EQUIPMENT THAT WAS DONATED TO THE FOUNDATION FOR CUYAHOGA COUNTY. THE OPERATING OF THE EQUIPMENT FOR CUYAHOGA COUNTY IS TO ENSURE VISITORS OF WHISKEY ISLAND AND WENDY PARK ARE ABLE TO ENTER AND DEPART FROM THE MARINA SAFELY. FURTHERMORE, WENDY PARK FOUNDATION PROVIDES GROUND MAINTENANCE TO WENDY PARK TO KEEP IT CLEAN AND SAFE FOR ITS VISITORS.
THE FOUNDATION IS SUPPORTING THE CLEVELAND METROPARKS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WENDY PARK BRIDGE WHICH WILL CONNECT THE CLEVELAND FOUNDATION CENTENNIAL TRAIL LAKE LINK TO WENDY PARK ON WHISKEY ISLAND AND LAKE ERIE. THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED IN JUNE 2021.
WENDY PARK IS OPERATING TO DEVELOP A PLAN TO RESTORE THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT AT WENDY PARK TO NATIONAL PARK STANDARDS OF EXCELLENCE, FACILITATE THE RESTORATION OF THE HISTORIC COAST GUARD STATION, INTEGRATE WHISKEY ISLAND MARINA INTO WENDY PARK AND TO PROVIDE PUBLIC ACCESS TO LAKE ERIE THROUGH CONNECTING WENDY PARK TO THE TOWPATH TRAIL. FURTHER, TO CREATE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES THAT EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON GREAT LAKES ECOLOGY, ECO-SYSTEM SUSTAINABILITY, MARITIME HERITAGE, AND MARITIME SAFETY AND YOUTH TRAINING.
