ORIGINALLY FORMED IN 1923 TO PROVIDE WOMEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET AND HAVE AN OPEN FORUM FOR THE PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF ALL THE SUBJECTS PERTAINING TO EDUCATION, CIVIC AND PHILANTHROPIC IMPROVEMENT OF THE COMMUNITY. THE RESTAURANT OPERATION PROVIDES A FORUM FOR THE MEMBERS TO MEET, IT ALSO IS AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC FOR VARIOUS CIVIC EVENTS, WEDDINGS AND RECEPTIONS. IT IS OPERATED ON A NON PROFIT BASIS AND ANY PROFITS GO TO THE IMPROVEMENTS OF THE CLUB AND FUNDING OF OTHER CIVIC EVENTS.
THE PROJECTS AND SECTIONS OF THE CLUB CARRIES VARIOUS NON PROFIT ACTIVITIES SERVING AS A FORUM FOR SOCIAL INTERACTION OF WOMEN. PROCEEDS ARE USED FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE CLUB FACILITY AND GENERAL OPERATION OF THE CLUB IN SUPPORT OF ITS MISSION.
THE PLAYHOUSE PROVIDES A PLACE FOR NON GUILD ACTORS TO PERFORM ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS, PERFORMING PLAYS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE TOWN HALL LECTURE SERIES PROVIDES LECTURERS ON VARIOUS TOPICS OF PUBLIC INTEREST, OF A NON-POLITICAL NATURE AND ARE OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE MONTHLY ART SHOWS, TRAVEL SERIES, SPECIAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN, A THEATRE TO ENCOURAGE AND DEVELOP DRAMATIC TALENT IN THE COMMUNITY, AND A LECTURE PROGRAM WHICH DISCUSSES TOPICS THAT ARE RELEVANT TO MEN AND WOMEN IN THE COMMMUNITY. THE CLUBHOUSE ALSO PROVIDES A FORUM FOR VARIOUS COMMUNITY AND FUNCTIONS WHERE BOTH MEN AND WOMEN CAN INTERACT.
