THE GUAC IS A COUNCIL OF TRADE ASSOCIATIONS, ADVOCATING FOR AND REPRESENTING A TOTAL OF OVER 700 COMPANIES IN GEORGIA, WITH 80,000 EMPLOYEES, GENERATING 8 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR IN REVENUE IN THE STATE. WE HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN ISSUES RANGING FROM IMMIGRATION LEGISLATION TO STATEWIDE WATER CONSERVATION POLICY TO OUTDOOR WATER USE REGULATIONS TO PUBLIC AND BUSINESS EDUCATION ABOUT OUTDOOR WATER EFFICIENCY. ALONG WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA, AND UNDER A MANDATE SET BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, WE DEVELOPED AND ARE ADMINISTERING THE OUTDOOR WATER USE REGISTRATION PROGRAM. WE ARE WORKING WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE ON PUBLIC EDUCATION ABOUT EFFICIENT WATER USE AND THE OWURP THROUGH TELEVISION AND RADIO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS. WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH MANY LOCAL WATER AUTHORITIES, EPD, GOVERNORS OFFICER, THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, THE GA AGRIBUSINESS COUNCIL, AND OTHER ASSOCIATION AND COUNCILS RELATED TO GEORGIAS LONG TERM WATER USE STRATEGIES.
A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER IS PUBLISHED TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT NEWS AND INFORMATION.
ANNUAL AWARDS PROGRAMS ARE HELD TO ENCOURAGE QUALITY WORKMANSHIP AND PROMOTE THE VALUE OF A PROFESSIONALLY LANDSCAPED ENVIRONMENT.
