THE MISSION OF WISCONSIN CENTER FOR NURSING, INC. IS TO ASSURE AN ADEQUATE, WELL-PREPARED AND DIVERSE NURSE WORKFORCE FOR THE PEOPLE OF WISCONSIN.

THE WISCONSIN 2022 RN SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED ON 97,100 RNS AS THEY RENEWED THEIR LICENSES. THE WI 2021 LPN WORKFORCE SURVEY WAS COMPLETED BY 10,885 LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSES (LPNS). THESE SURVEYS ARE REQUIRED BY WISCONSIN STATE STATUTE AND CONDUCTED BY THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF SAFETY AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AND THE WISCONSIN CENTER FOR NURSING. A RESEARCH TEAM FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON COMPLETED ANALYSIS FOR THE REPORTS.WCN PROVIDES DATA ANALYSIS AND DETAILED REPORTS W/ RECOMMENDATIONS FOR STRATEGIES TO ENSURE THAT THERE IS AN ADEQUATE NURSING WORKFORCE BY: 1. MONITORING TRENDS, 2. EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF NURSING EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN INCREASING ACCESS TO THOSE PROGRAMS, 3. ENHANCING CAREER MOBILITY FOR NURSES ESPECIALLY IN UNDERREPRESENTED POPULATIONS OF NURSES, 4. FACILITATING PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN THE NURSING COMMUNITY AND OTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS, 5. PROMOTING DIVERSITY WITHIN THE NURSING PROFESSION, 6. ENHANCING LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR NURSES, AND 7. ACHIEVING CONSENSUS REGARDING POLICIES AIMED AT ENSURING ADEQUATE NURSING WORKFORCE IN THIS STATE.
