THE AUXILIARY WAS CREATED IN 1888 TO SUPPORT ST. JOSEPH'S HOSPITAL HEALTH CENTER (THE HOSPITAL) AND PROVIDE SERVICES TO ITS PATIENTS.THE AUXILIARY ORGANIZES, COORDINATES, CONDUCTS AND PARTICIPATES IN ACTIVITIES WHICH BENEFIT THE HOSPITAL AND ITS PATIENTS, AS WELL AS SOLICITING AND ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE HOSPITAL. IN ADDITION, THE AUXILIARY ASSISTS IN THE RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING OF COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF THE HOSPITAL AND ITS PATIENTS.
