DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF COMMUNITY BASED ADOPTION AND FOSTER CARE EDUCATION, AWARENESS AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS BENEFITING AT RISK YOUTH, ORPHANS AND CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE WITH A VARIETY OF SUPPORT NEEDS INCLUDING ADOPTION ADVOCACY, LIFE SKILLS, PERMANENT ADULTS IN THEIR LIVES, FAMILIES AND LIFE SKILLS AS SOME TRANSITION FROM THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. THE GOAL IS TO REDUCE HOMELESSNESS, INCREASE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADOPTION, PROVIDE RESOURCES TO FILL THEIR UNMET NEEDS.

IMPLEMENTED FOSTER CARE EDUCATION, AWARENESS AND SUPPORT INITIATIVE FOR FOSTER YOUTH IN HIGH SCHOOL AND GRADUATES TRANSITIONING OUT OF FOSTER CARE. APPROXIMATELY 280 YOUTH BENEFITED FROM THE PROGRAM THE ORGANIZATION IMPLEMENTED IN 2014 INCLUDING PERMANENCY PLANNING, EDUCATION AND RELATED SUPPORTS. MULTI-DAY PROGRAMS CONNECTED YOUTH TO MENTORS, LIFE SKILLS AND RESOURCES. GIFT FOR A CHILD MOBILIZED BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITIES TO USE THEIR TALENTS AND GIFTS TO HELP DEVELOP INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO HELP CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE ACHIEVE SUCCESS IN SCHOOL AND IN LIFE.
HEART GALLERY GEORGIA, HEART GALLERY SOUTHEAST AND AQUA RUN FOR A CHILD PROMOTES ADOPTION AND FOSTER CARE FOR CHILDREN OF GEORGIA. GIFT FOR A CHILD'S COMMUNITY EDUCATION CAMPAIGNS RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE NEED TO CONNECT FOSTER YOUTH WITH CARING ADULTS. MANY FOSTER YOUTH DO NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO FORM NORMAL RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS. WE PROVIDED ON GOING EDUCATIONAL AWARENESS THROUGH PHOTOGRAPHY AND PHOTO JOURNALISM ABOUT THE PROCESS OF ADOPTION AS WELL AS SUPPORTING EXISTING FAMILIES WHO HAVE ADOPTED OR FOSTERED CHILDREN. INCLUDES PERMANENCY AND MENTORING EDUCATION AND SUPPORT FOR YOUTH. WE COMPLETED AN ADOPTION SUCCESS STORY EXHIBIT THAT HIGHLIGHT 50 ADOPTIVE YOUTH SUCCESS STORIES. AND, 45 YOUTH TRANSITIONING FROM CARE WERE FEATURED DURING A CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE EVENT.
