EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2014, EAST PALO ALTO ACADEMY FOUNDATION (PRIOR TO JULY 1, 2017, KNOWN AS STANFORD SCHOOLS CORPORATION) SERVES AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, SUPPORTING A PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL, EAST PALO ALTO ACADEMY, IN TWO WAYS. FIRST, EAST PALO ALTO ACADEMY FOUNDATION (EPAAF) FUNDS DIRECT SERVICES FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL INCLUDING: EARLY COLLEGE COURSES, WHERE STUDENTS EARN COLLEGE CREDIT DURING THEIR REGULAR SCHOOL DAY; THE DREAM LAB, A MAKERSPACE WHERE STUDENTS ENGAGE IN HANDS-ON STEM LEARNING AND DEVELOP CREATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS; AND WRAPAROUND SERVICES THAT SUPPORT STUDENTS' MENTAL HEALTH AND READINESS TO LEARN. SECOND, EPAAF OFFERS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS TO A SELECT NUMBER OF UNDERGRADUATE COLLEGE STUDENTS, ALL OF WHOM GRADUATED FROM EAST PALO ALTO ACADEMY.EAST PALO ALTO ACADEMY PROVIDES A HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 343 STUDENTS. THE STUDENT POPULATION IS APPROXIMATELY 87% LATINO/A/X, 6% AFRICAN-AMERICAN, 6% PACIFIC ISLANDERS, AND 1% WHITE (CA SCHOOL DASHBOARD). 65% OF STUDENTS WILL BE THE FIRST IN THEIR FAMILIES TO GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL, AND 83% WILL BE FIRST-GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS. APPROXIMATELY 75% OF THE STUDENTS ARE ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNERS. THE HIGH SCHOOL CONTINUES TO FOCUS ON CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE CURRICULUM, RIGOROUS COLLEGE PREPARATION, AND HIGH STANDARDS AND HIGH SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS IN PURSUIT OF OUR AMBITIOUS VISION THAT "ALL STUDENTS WILL GRADUATE COLLEGE-READY, EMPOWERED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND PASSION TO POSITIVELY IMPACT THEIR OWN LIVES, THEIR COMMUNITY, AND THE GLOBAL SOCIETY." WE ARE PROUD TO SHARE OUR AVERAGE 92% HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATE AND OVER 73% 2- AND 4-YEAR COLLEGE ENROLLMENT RATE.ON JULY 1, 2017 STANFORD NEW SCHOOLS CORPORATION BECAME EAST PALO ALTO ACADEMY FOUNDATION.


DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, EPAAF STARTED IN MARCH 2020, AN EMERGENCY AID FUND TO HELP EAST PALO ALTO ACADEMY STUDENTS, COLLEGE-GOING GRADUATES AND THEIR FAMILIES TO MEET BASIC NEEDS SUCH AS RENT, GROCERIES AND DISTANCE LEARNING NEEDS. EPAAF WAS ABLE TO HELP OVER 5 RECIPIENTS AND DISTRIBUTED $2,137 IN EMERGENCY AID DURING THE 2021-2022 YEAR.
