THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS A WEEK-LONG EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HURRICANE MITIGATION, PREPARATIONS, RESPONSE, AND RECOVERY. THE METHODS USED INCLUDE TRAINING SESSIONS, WORKSHOPS, AND PLENARY SESSIONS. PARTICIPANTS ARE PRIMARILY LOCAL, STATE, AND GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. CO-SPONSORS INCLUDE THE AMERICAN RED CROSS, FEMA, AND THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER. THE 2020 CONFERENCE WAS NOT HELD DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC.
