DSIL IS AN AGENCY RUN BY PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, MORE THAN 50% OF THE BOARD MEMBERS ARE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND MORE THAN 50% OF THE STAFF ARE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES. DSIL IS A LOCAL CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING (CURRENTLY COOKING CLASSES, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES,PROGRAMS FOR THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING ARE OFFERED), AND INDIVIDUAL AND SYSTEMS ADVOCACY SERVICES. ADDITIONAL SERVICES PROVIDED BY DSIL INCLUDE TRANSITION SERVICES, CASE MANAGEMENT, COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND TRAINING SEMINARS, ACCESSIBILITY SURVEYS, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON ALL DISABILITY RIGHT LAWS.
