FAITH IN ACTION ALABAMA IS LEADING A STATE CAMPAIGN TO ENSURE THAT THE ALABAMA CRIME VICTIMS COMPENSATION COMMISSION (ACVCC) GREATLY EXPEDITES THE PROCESSING OF APPLICATIONS FROM VICTIMS OF CRIME IN A MUCH MORE EXPEDITED MANNER. . IN THIS CAMPAIGN, FAITH IN ACTION ALABAMA VOLUNTEERS MET WITH PUBLIC OFFICIALS ABOUT THIS MATTER

3. IN HUNTSVILLE (MADISON COUNTY), FAITH IN ACTION ALABAMA IS LEADING A CAMPAIGN TO SECURE IMPLEMENTATION OF LOCAL CRIME JUSTICE REFORM. CURRENTLY, IN MADISON COUNTY IF ONE IS ARRESTED FOR PARTICULAR LOW-LEVEL CRIMES THEY COULD BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MADISON COUNTY OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S DIVERSION PROGRAM IF A DEFENDANT IS ABLE TO GET INTO THIS PROGRAM AND COMPLETE IT THE PERSON WILL NOT HAVE TO SERVE ANY TIME IN JAIL FOR THE LOW-LEVEL CRIME THAT S/HE WAS ARRESTED FOR NOR WILL THE ARREST SHOW UP ON THEIR RECORD
