HOUSING WORKS LEXINGTON OPERATES THE WOMEN'S TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM (WTHP) WHICH PROVIDES 20 UNITS OF CONGREGATE TRANSITIONAL HOUSING IN BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN, FOR SINGLE WOMEN LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS WHO ARE RELEASED FROM THE CORRECTIONAL SYSTEM. THEWTHP WORKS WITH CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES TO PLACE WOMEN IN THE LEXINGTON APARTMENTS WITHIN 24 HOURS OF RELEASE. IN ADDITION TO HOUSING, THE WOMEN RECEIVE MEALS, COUNSELING, AND OTHER CRITICAL SERVICES THROUGH HOUSING WORKS' NEARBY ADULT DAY HEALTH CARE CENTERS IN DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, EAST NEW YORK, THE EAST VILLAGE, AND THE WEST VILLAGE.
